I expect 90+ on metacritic or close. The beta was lots of fun I think it can pull it out.

Reviews are opinions. The only job a reviewers has is to explain to you why he/she liked or didn't like a game, to give you, the reader, a good idea whether you want to buy the game or not. The better they are at explaining it, the better the review is. And reviews can't possibly be "objective", because we all see and experience things differently. for example, one person might love a games soundtrack, while another totally hates it, and both of these opinions are fine as long as they explain why.
if everyone would try to review games "objectively", most would just need to say: the game works.

A lot of games will send out early review copies to reviewers, and they will even have a small online window where they can try multiplayer. However, I think it would be much harder to do that with destiny as everything would require online, and Im guessing the servers are a bit more sophisticated than a typical game... which is why they didnt send out early review copies... edit: so reviews wont actually launch with the game, but will come out well after launch... |
Reviews won't start coming out well after launch, unless there are massive server problems or something like that. Every publication will be falling over themselves to get theirs out among the first wave of reviews.
where are the reviews has it got an embargo or something, thought everything was usually up by now

Any review that comes out before the weekend will be garbage because they wont have played everything in the game. Destiny is supposed to take 20-30 hours just to beat the main story, let alone touch all the side missions, strike missions, raids, multiplayer, etc. This isnt the type of game you throw in for a couple hours and write a review...

No embargo, but nobody can even play it until they switch the servers on tonight, so reviews wont be out till the end of the week or into next week...

That makes sense. I suppose MMOs are a unique case. Still, it's too bad, as the only way for early buyers to find out if there's something wrong with the online functionality and/or gameplay of Destiny is to discover it themselves. Although, I imagine the public beta, and reviews of that beta, offered a cursory glimpse into the future of the game.
Im predicting 87-89. I'd be surprised if it was above 90.

That won't stop the reviews from coming out regardless. Reviewers get games like Skyrim a few days before embargo and still have a review ready as soon as it lifts
