I'm not seeing reviews from IGN, Gamespot, Joystiq, Kotaku, etc. Is this because of the embargo? Or am I just blind? Seems like those would be important scores to include in the aggregation.

Well most say they will take their time with possible a discussion between reviewers what to give the score etc..

Gametrailers for example has some editorials talking about the game...

BTW, I did not know you were still around..

yeah...so I'm sure we're going to get a couple different looks at the game by next week..

and do I know you?

I certainly dropped off the site for a while...for a number of reasons...mostly a lack of interest as the last generation wound down...but with the next wave starting I felt compelled to return.

Not sure you remember me, 'Konnichiwa' if you remember.   I remember you because were also one of the first members and you have a huge post count so I must have missed your threads.

I definitely remember you.  That makes more sense!

why is everyone jumping the gun, so far the only version that actually has enough "critic" scores is the PS4 version oddly?, why are there next to no critic scores for the other consoles, you can't seriously tell me or anyone else the PS4 reviews are the last word given the fact the XB1, 360 and PS3 are yet to receive any kind of rating (more than 4 critic's), once all versions have got an established number of critic's then we can cast some sort of judgment over the game, looks like the ones who posted their review scores early couldn't be bothered to dig deeper into the game, ill wait for the more in depth reviews rather than the rushed "play the basics" reviews.

Current PC build:

Asus Z97I-Plus, i5 4790K @ 4.6ghz, EVGA GTX 980 ACX 2.0 1377/1853/124%, Corsair Vengence Pro 2400mhz 2x 8192mb, Corsair RM850, Corsair H80i, 120GB OCZ Vertex 3 SSD, 750GB Seagate Momentus XT SSHD, 320GB Weston Digital HDD, Corsair 230T, Corsair K50 Raptor, HP XQ500AA mouse, Windows 10 Pro 64bit. iiyama Pro Lite G2773HS 120Hz 1Ms G2G gaming monitor.

I agree, we should wait for the more in-depth reviews, but the PS4 version is (correct me if it isn't so) seen as the definitive version of the game. Therefore, it would make sense to have the scores based on the PS4.

Well the Xbox one version is basically the same only it miss 0.05% of the game because the PS4 version get its exclusive...  Normally all the other version should get less scores or the same if the extra content doesn't mena much to the game.

the fall of bungie is them making the most successful new IP in history?

If you define success as revenue, of course not.

But this thread is about the game's quality - and it represents a noted fall in the quality of Bungie games...

quality, specially when its about a form of art, is subjective, and while i am sure the great minds at polygon or quarter to three are giving their very valueable opinion on the game, there score is utterly meaningless when millions of people who played the beta went on to buy the game, to those, and to me, who is very much enjoying the game, and the million others who are as well, the game is hugely successful. metacritic doesnt matter if millions of people who are playing the game are enjoying it, thats the ultimate measure of success.

guess its time to move on to
" far cry 4 or smash bros will be goty"

i think sunset overdrive, AC Unity and LBP3 have a good chance at winning. of course, people keep forgetting about dark souls 2

The game has a polarized reception among the reviewers and the gamers. I guess the high expectations for this game were a factor.

Actually, using the stipulation you've provided, people who have already purchased the game so soon after launch are least able to dictate an articulate opinion on quality unless they have completed it. Overwhelmingly comment is underwhelming - not bad, just not an accomplishment relative to expectations and other released games.

By definition, these are people who purchased the game prior to being well positioned to form an opinion on its content. To use the measure you suggest, we'd instead have to stipulate a time period later down the track, and compare it to similar games in the genre.
