Forums - Gaming - Bioshock Infinite vs Alan Wake

Apples and oranges!

I like Bioshock Infinite because its visually amazing, good story, but the gameplay was tedious to me.

Alan Wake also has a good story and the gameplay was more unique.

I recommend playing both, Bioshock Infinite if you're in the mood for FPS gameplay and a great presentation. Alan Wake if you want something more in the realm of survival horror.

Alan Wake was more unique? As in... you do one unique gimmick the whole game?

Because, gameplay wise, there isn't much to write about. What was unique wasn't really its gameplay. It was the presentation and storytelling.

Personally, I think Bioshock is a much more fun game than Alan Wake. I found Alan Wake to be way too repetitive and lacking diversity.

Why? For the story?

I meant the gameplay. Bioshock Infinite at its a core is a pretty standard shooter. Also, the gunplay was less interesting than the original Bioshock.

Alan Wake isn't another FPS, it has some unique combat gameplay, it just felt more fresh.

Both are guilty of being repetitive and lacking diversity.

I have not played AW.

BioShock Infinite has terrible shooting mechanics and weak rpg elements. The only positives are IMO the world and the story.

Edit: It is also very repetitive(?), and it is way to easy, just a sidekick that keeps throwing health and ammo at you...

Both are good but AW for me was one of the best games last gen, everything about it just captured me and I couldn't put it down. Remedy never fail.

BTW Burial at Sea (BI DLC) is the best BioShock ever created.
