They won't get get cancelled but Ubisoft and Namco Bandai will wish they did cancel them, instead of waiting forever to release them.
Project Cars? Dunno. Watch Dogs? No, it won't be cancelled, even though it won't sell much at all.

It shows that you haven't been here for many, many weeks. Ubisoft already announced that Watch Dogs is the last M-rated game that they will release for Wii U. |
Which makes me wonder what the final straw was. Black Flag?
Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I'm not talking strictly M-rated though; unless they can pull off another Let's Dance on the U, it is quite likely they will drop all support in the near future.
Mr.Khan; Black Flag surely didn't help the cause for Nintendo when it comes to their relation with Ubisoft. Even though the whole Rayman issue was kind of a dick move by Ubi, I can surely understand the thought behind it and they seem to be still seething after the relative failure of ZombiU to attain profitability.

I don't see any Nintendo theme stuff being in the game. I don't really see Nintendo giving them permission with out something in return and I really don't think Ubisoft cares so much about this version to bother to atempt to bargain with Nintendo to add stuff like this. But I do think they are smart and I won't be surprised if they give some of the past DLC for free to the Wii U owners. I feel like they should have finished the Wii U version by now and I think that they maybe just holding it back until Christmas. Plenty of time to include some of the DLC. |
Well, they have... kind of. Last week they reached one of the final milestones and you can say the game is no longer in development, but it is not in gold status yet.
cycycychris said: They made it known they weren't pleased with Black Flag sales, but I think once Splinter Cell completely flopped, they were basicly done with the Wii U. Then Black Flag selling barely over the amount AC3 sold, they decided it was time to pull the plug. |
Didn't help that Blacklist and AC4 were crappy ports. Hell, AC3 runs smoother on Wii U than AC4, and that was a launch title.
I expect Watch Dogs Wii U to essentially be the same as the PS3 version, just with an even worse framerate. I had a bet on it, but my opponent got perma-banned.
If they are already in an advanced development stage, they surely won't throw away the work done, in the worst case they'll just sell their digital versions on Wii U.
PS Project CARS looks great, better and better as time goes by, I'll buy its PC version, but I wish Wii U gamers their console receive it too.
Well, with a release date finally announced for Watch Dogs, it looks like that one won't be getting cancelled, bar a (reverse) miracle.
Now it's Project Cars that has to prove itself and pull through without its devs giving up on the system and pulling the plug. Hopefully it's far enough in development that such a course of action would be financially nonviable.
