Funny, I joined this forum only today excluisvly because it seemed to be the only one where sensible adult discussion was taking place; but the more I read the less hopeful I am of that, lol. :)

What!!!?? Well as long as you dont say or post anything positive about Xbox and dont say/post anything negative about PS, you should have no problem having discussion(1 of 3 aint bad) here.

Not sure if it's a negative, but if my wife went down on me as much as PSN does; I'd be a happy man.

But what's the point of being #1 console if we don't enjoy it?

I think we could easily enjoy the success of the PS4 without constantly pointing out the failures of the other 2. ;)

I think the other two are more content at pointing out the failures of eachother than we are

For example there was this whole Wii60 thing back then, this allegiance of 360 and Wii owners against the greater evil, the PS3. Compare that to now that the the Wii U and X1 are in competition over second place, they are basically at each others throats and have largely stepped away from going against the PS4, when it comes to sales at least.

The Nintendo fanbase was a whole lot calmer back then, I mean why wouldn't they be? The Wii and DS where comfortably sitting at the top of the charts every week, what would people say? "Oh, it's for casual/kids/etc", pff ok great, it's still at the top.

But the PS fanbase seems to have stayed kinda static in time, pretty easily offended, very vocal, often very aggressive (and I'm not excluding myself here) and I'm wondering "Why?". Why don't we of the PS fanbase just calm down a bit now that our preferred system is very much at the top and is set to stay there?

Ahh the Wii360 alliance. I was part of that in all of my social circles. I heavenly backed both systems until my XB360 RRODed on me. What infuriated me more was that Microsoft knew 30% of their release date stock was defective, but still shipped it anyway. Microsoft has a history with making cheap things at a ripoff price (with their computers, tablets etc). The last straw that broke the camels back was when I heard Microsoft wanted to limit used games on there systems. Suddenly, all the stereotypes that American companies get for how greedy they are were personified with Microsoft.

Thank god I bought a PS3 for the BLU-RAY player. I was originally going to just buy a Blu-ray player, vowing to never buy a Sony Console since my pre-teen years, until all my friends convinced me I should. One of the top investments I've made. When my XBOX died all I had to buy were the Street Fighters and the CoDs I had for 360.

Also the reason why Sony fans are so hostile IMHO is because they were almost dethroned completely in the last generation console wars. They held the Championship Belt for 2 GENERATIONS (PSX/PS2) and ran a company out of making Consoles (Sega). When they were put in 2ND/3RD place last generation, they were put in a VERY INSECURE place. Now that they are back on top, that resentment from being so low by the competition last time is showing and they are biting back.

For the record I support every Nintendo first, and anything Sony 2nd.

I remember back in 09 when I first found out about VGC, it was the week of the slim launch to be precise (550k) & many MS & Nintendo fans mocked, laughed & promised that the PS3 wouldn't make a dent after the initial launch. Going back even further you then had MS fans boasting about indies & justifying console exclusives, two luxuries that somehow don't count for the PS4. Now fast forward to the present & the tables have turned considerably. Simply put I think Playstation fans feel the need to floss about Sony's current position in the market because of all the ridicule we recieved!

You do have a good point; as a mature gamer I don't really understand this mentality either; but I'd also say your post is passive aggressive and seems to basically read as "say what you want but Playstation is at the top so there" and I picture an infant sticking his tounge out and running away.

Now I can understand 2 business bragging about who's console is selling more, but as users it makes little sense to me.

My only theory is that in actual fact it's this mentality that is driving sales; people want to own popular consumer objects beacsue in turn it makes them feel popular and part of the crowd. It certainly seems to be the number #1 stick used to poke Xbox & Nintendo users.

Back when I was a lad, we'd be torn between a Commodore 64 and a Spectrum 48k; we'd tease the Speccy kids for the lack of colors in their games, but we'd be more interested in going around and playing on it than having arguments.

For the record, I purchased both next gen consoles with a view to testing both and selling the one I liked least. I chose the Xbox and it was a pretty easy choice.

So it isn't winning in my house.

I get what you're saying but that wasn't what I meant. I don't think that we should use the "PS4 is on top reply" as our go to answer when seeing posts like these, I think we should just remember that the PS4 is on top and that we're happy with it and then either calmly reply or just shrug it off, instead we (me included) go in full on rage mode seeing posts like that way too often and thus give them more than they deserve.

Wii and Xbox fans are at each others throats currently? I can't say ive seen that.
I do see sony fans making sure xbox fans sit at the back of the bus though.

Lmfao the more aggressive PS fans make sure Xbox fans walk home.

I love reading on this Site but idc bout gaming anymore.

I once had a GC, PS1 and a 360.

That said, I think looking at ALL the gaming forums like N4G, Eurogamer, IGN and on here I can honestly say that Sony Fans are really the most vocal, most aggressive ones and its just them mocking other peoples choice of console.

And i dont get it. They got the most powerful one, the best selling one....why on earth keep they downplaying the Wii and the One? Why do I have to look at chilidish signatures trashing the One (like Fatalitys Tank and Soldier or the signature where this manga sony guy beats nintendo and ms in the face)?

Damn this fanboy wars will never end. ST vs Amiga....Lynx vs Gameboy....Mega Drive vs....

On the other hand I personally think that all that Hate towards Microsoft makes the One for me a really awesome consoles...I love the underdogs... :)

Looks like it, yes. Seems like there are mainly PS and Ninty guys on here nowadays, Xbox, not so much anymore.

Sony fans can be a bit annoying. They seem to feel like their way of life is threatened by Xbone and Wii-U owners, even though they alongside Xbone owners are the big threat to the industry in this deranged Nintendo fanboy's opinion.

(Although I do really think we Nintendo fans need to stop thinking about sales given that we have such an insane and enviable line-up; even with the lack of third party support. Low sales be damned.)
