He is well known, but as Zelda. Since the title of the game is The Legend of Zelda, people always mistake him as Zelda. Like at conventions.

I believe with everything on the list except one, infact this one I just don't get at all. He is an essential gamer known character, why would non-gamers know him?

All the other have been pop culture or in the case of Lara, was on bloody lad mags in the 90s. Master Chief is just a game character and nothing else. They might know what Halo is but not the main character.

Most of the characters listed make sense, but the order seems off to me... Link above Pikachu? Lara Croft ahead of pac-man? I can't believe that either the games or the film have turned her into an icon recognized more than fucking pac man :p

It's good to see some old-schoolers still in there though.  Pac-man, for example.

great list. Also, DK is fun and popular because he appears in many Mario Spinoff and actually started Mario's character lol. Plus......DK is DK.
