funny trend here. VGC newbies tend to want to use the Wheel, while VGC oldies tend to want to use GC controller

As for me, if the game is good and I will get a Wii for it. GC controller for me and Wii wheel for whoever playing against me offline. :)

Many of the people saying Wheel or Wiimote have more posts than you

Also, kow is all high and mighty PS3 fanboy, but he doesn't know that I would own him hard in Mario Kart any day, twice on sunday, using the Wii wheel against him and miyamoto with gamecube controllers 2v1.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I'd be great if Nintendo released an actual wheel with Force Feedback. Instead we get a snap on piece of plastic.

You can just use the Wiimote alone if you want

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

WE had a thread on this a while ago, and basically, the Gamecube controller, or the classic controller is the only way to go, the Wiimote or Wiimote/nunchuck combos don't work too well.

Kind of funny, seeing as that this game is developed for the Wii, but controls best with a last-generation controller.

^see looking at page one it seems a good chunk said wheel (or remote, which is the same thing without the extra plastic) and another chunk said they would primarily try wheel, but IF it sucked they would revert.

So perhaps I read peoples responses wrong but more seemed to be saying Wheel/remote than GC/classic. (and even fewer were saying remote+nunchuck, which would in fact be what I use IF the wheel/remote control is poor)

Kind of funny, seeing you post about how the game controls better with one option than the other when you haven't played it.

Depends how the wheel works out.

Mostly just the Wii-mote. I'll use the nunchuk too. I'll try out the Wii Wheel, hopefully I'll like using it.

i'll try out the wheel but will prob. end up using the Gamecube controller

You should use the wheel until your good at it, then go back and try the gamecube contoller, only then will you get a fair comparison, just trying the wheel may do nothing for your confidence in using it, you need to master it first to truely compare

Myself I'll be on the Wiimote, as I've never played a Mario Kart before, but really enjoyed excite truck controls, loads of fun

I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to get this game because I don't have a ton of money for games and for the most part, I'm more interested in my PS3. If I do get it, (which I probably will because MK is the only game for the Wii that has been announced that I am interested in.) I'll try the wheel, but unless Nintendo does a great job with it, I'll stick with the sticks. I am however, fairly confident that Nintendo will do a good job with the wheel, so I'll probably use that.

Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it
