It should sell considerably more than HW simply because it has the DQ brand attached to it.

Zelda is a pretty unpopular series in japan, when stacked against DQ.

Almost nothing can "save" the PS4 (or WiiU for that matter) in Japan, but it should certainly sell a decent amount better than it has been.

3-4 exclusives won't save it.

Nothing will save it, but it was always probably going to outsell the Wii U anyway.

Nintendo has like three big console exclusives in Japan -- 2D Mario, Mario Kart, and Smash Brothers. And they've basically used two of them up already with the third one coming in December, but that will likely (in Japan) be overshadowed by the 3DS version + New 3DS launch.

Sony already had FFXV and Kingdom Hearts 3 (which mind you are bigger than anything they announced today), but throw in MGSV, Bloodbourne, Persona 5 (cross gen), Bio Hazard, and Dragon Quest Heroes (cross gen) and it's likely they'll beat the Wii U in the long run.

Not that it'll matter much, I don't think either console is sniffing even PS3 level sales this gen, Vita will outsell both.

I think in Japan amiibo will be a hit, but it will be driven more by the 3DS, especailly since it launches with the New 3DS which makes owning a Wii U for that reason moot. 

Waifu sims on Morpheus is Sony's X factor, guess we'll see on that. 

Most excited I have been about the system. Now the wait for localization announcements.

Theres a lot of Nintendo fans in here that have always trashed the PS4, good lord there's a ton. PS4 is going to do amazing now, sorry but Wii U (while it's still good and I still plan to get one) had its run. Persona 5 is the most anticipated game that Japanese gamers have voted for in Famitsu, look it up. The list of games in Japan is crazy.
