Forums - Sony Discussion - So is PS4 "saved" in Japan?

That's definitely a good start. All we know now is, Sony isn't giving up on Japan without a fight. Cause let's be honest, I'm sure without Sony's investment half of those games would not have a PS4 version to acompany PS3 or Vita.

2014 is a missed oportunity, if they could have at least 1 - 2 of those higher profile games for late 2014 and then continue the momentum from Christmas/New years bump to 2015 where the line up is very strong it would be better.
The most important thing now is having the biggest 3rd party players push the main entries in those franchises like RE, DQ, FF on PS4 only (or PS4/X1 so pretty much exclusive) sooner rather than later, cause that will really push consoles. We know they are coming, they all seem far off unfortunately.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Wouldnt say ''saved'' but some of those titles will give it a nice boost

To be honest, I don't think it's enough.

You need to stop with the constant downplaying. Since joing the site you have yet to make one unsnarky comment about anything Sony related. These games will certainly help and we're just getting started.

You can't just say one side of the story.

Also, DQ musou will do basically the same that Hyrule W did in Japan.

It will do much better, Dragon Quest is a much bigger IP in JP compared to Zelda.

But nothing extraordinary. The mouso games have lost a lot of popularity.

depends on how many of those are also on PS3 which will take sales away from PS4 so I wouldn't really say saved

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

Samurai/ Destiny Warriors clearly.....

It will easily win what little is left of the console market there.

I knew that much, I mean what makes you say they lost popularity?

Well I think it'll give the Wii U a run for its money.

Bloodborne, Deep Down, Dragon Quest Warriors, Persona 5, Gundam, Yakuza, MGS5 RE Revelations 2, Type 0 HD will all do great and I'm sure theres more to be confirmed for 2015, but very few are next gen exclusives, so I don't think we can start expecting anything far beyond 20k as baseline.
