Forums - Nintendo - After the Wii U disaster, will you buy Nintendo's next console?

I won't support Nintendo after the Wii. They had their chance and blew it. I might buy a refurbished Wii U or a used Wii U to play w101,Bayonetta 2 and maybe Mario Kart if people are willing to play it with me. The original Wii proved to me that Nintendo won't support their console that much after the first three years.

You can always count on spurg to come up with nice, positive topics.

Quite frankly, the Wii U is hardly a "failure" yet, and calling it so when it has barely even been out two years yet, is pretty laughable. If it winds up outselling Xbone this gen, which it very well could, if Nintendo handles things correctly from here on out, then how is that a "failure" at all?

Not only that, but for all the bullshit whining about what a "failure" it is around here and other sites, it has already provided a ton of great games, with many many more on the way, both in retail form, and in the myriad of awesome indie games coming to it down the pipeline, many of which are either only also coming to PC, or some of which are even Wii U exclusive.

I'd call a system I'm happy with, that provides me games I like and enjoy playing, a success, no matter what any sales obsessed folks want to sit and label it.

As to whether or not I'll buy Nintendo's next console? Well let's see, that really depends. Will they continue making the kinds of games that I like, that I enjoy, and that appeal to me, because of their design and high level of quality? If that remains the case, which I see no reason for it changing now, 30+ years into the game, then yes, I would imagine, so long as there are games I want for it, I will in fact probably buy their next system too.

I've never regretted a Nintendo console or handheld purchase, so there's no bad taste in my mouth. I'll buy

After Nov 2009 (three years) they had Mario Galaxy 2, Silent Hill Shattered Memories, The Last Story, Xenoblade Chronicles, The Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword, Metroid Other M, and Pandora's Tower off the top of my head. One instalment for every major Nintendo franchise, and hopefully some titles that will become franchises (like the Last Story, and Xenoblade) as well as Silent Hill which I remembered because I liked that game.

This list doesn't even include all the smaller gems like Fragile Dreams, Arc Rise Fantasia, Fanal Fantasy Crystal Bearers, ect (depending on your game genre of choice of course).

Wait,wait,wait... My Wii U is a failure? But... I had a ton of fun with it! Don't tell me it's a failure please... My heart would break. The Wii U's only problem is it's sales. It has a ton of great game and even more are coming in 2014/2015. As long as Nintendo don't go the third party way, i will buy Nintendo consoles. So, i will buy Nintendo consoles as long as the company stands...

Also, at least Nintendo is trying to make up for it's failure. Remember, when the 3DS came out and everybody doomed the handheld? Nintendo put in a lot of effort to sell the system and now the 3DS is mostly living on third party releases. I think, they can easily make the Wii U just as attractive to third party devs as they made the 3DS. But look at Sony... They are ignoring the Vita, 3rd party support is almost non existent and the so called saviours of the platform indie devs are moving on to other platforms, mainly the Wii U. If i would call something a failure, it's the Vita, since even Sony admited it...

I may. Didn't even bother with the Wii U, as i didn't like the controller and such. I'll still give their next console a fair chance though.

depends on the console and if it appeals to me. right now though, i would only buy a sony console early in the gen. Nintendo and Xbox have to prove them selfs worthy before i buy one.

Of course, maybe not first year though.

I plan on buying it launch day.

I love my Wii U and I'm sure I'll love Nintendo's next system as well.

Bets:

1. If the Wii U sells closer to 10 million LTD by 1/3/2015 I win. If it sells closer to 9.5 million LTD by 1/3/2015 OfficerRaichu15 wins (winner gets 2 weeks of avatar control)--Lost.

I'll purchase Nintendo. I don't have this loyalty that blinds me from experienceing good games from the other manufacturers.
