Forums - Nintendo - Exclusive software in development for New Nintendo 3DS (Besides Xenoblade Chronicles)

Freaking bullshit!

^^

Yeah..... this is a load of shit. I can't find any way to defend this and seeing as I wont be upgrading to the "New 3DS" looks like im missing out.

That exclusivity is disappointing, but then it's been over 3yrs and will be 4yrs by the time it hits other regions.
I hope the exclusive games will be limited in numbers and to ports/remakes and they atleast make another Ambassador Programs for Current 3DS owners upgrading to the New 3DS.

I don't really like this much. It punishes early adopters and forces them to either buy a new handheld or miss out on a few exclusives. However, as many have said already Nintendo have done similar things before. It doesn't make it any better, but consumers should have known that something like that was possible. That being said some are exaggerating by saying that their 3DS is now obsolete. It isn't, it's just gonna miss some games.

Also, for everyone saying Xenoblade and the other exclusives being developed for the new 3DS cannot be done on the old 3DS. You have completely given up the right to be upset at any 3rd party game skipping a Nintendo system.

Sorry but I really have to argue this. Sorry but Nintendo gets the most crap for a lot of things they do. Remember super easy finish the stage mode? Literally no one, and I mean no one complained about it being in GTAV but it being a mario game, caused everyone to think Nintendo is destroying gaming with casual BS. I think none of the companies are safe from people shitting on them.

Im sorry but I dont know what super easy finish the stage mode is. Are you talking about how you can get the Luigi guide if you die too much on a Mario game ? Do ppl realy complain about that ?

But I was refearing to the hardware department actualy, everythign thats hardware related comming from Nintendo is seen as the right move and inovative. On the software department however Nint gets a lot of underserved flack.

it locks really bad especially the second analogue, the name will confuse alot of people and it seperates the install base,
it´s complet shit and doesn´t get better trought the fact that it´s not the first time

I expect the eventual Majora's Mask remake to be done for this and maybe, possibly even Super Mario Sunshine or Galaxy.

I think Majora's Mask seems like a great candidate for "playable on original 3DS/XL, with some exclusive features for New 3DS/XL." Like the Oracle games on GBA.

Ocarina 3D didn't exactly push the 3DS to its limit as far as I could tell, so I doubt MM3D would be a great showcase of the system's extra power unless they put a lot of work into upgrading it visually -- an unnecessary upgrade that would only serve to render the game unplayable on original 3DS. It would be better to simply offer an incentive to playing on the New model, and now that I think about it, merely offering CPP support and Amiibo support would accomplish this. Upgrade to a new system, or buy multiple peripherals, or play without these conveniences we added. The most straightforward option would be to upgrade.

XENOBLADE WOULD NEVER HAVE COME TO THE 3DS ANYWAY! THE ORIGINAL 3DS DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH POWER TO PLAY IT!!!

Honestly, the 3DS is poweful enough to run Xenoblade, considering how comparable it is to the Wii in terms of hardware, likely they don't want to work hard enough on the port though, and more power makes up for a lack of effort. Also, they mentioned other games to be announced in the future.

I'm sure Xenoblade is just a ploy to get people to buy a new console. Nothing more, nothing less. For me personally, I have a 3DS XL and I'm not upgrading after just 3 years on the market. If games won't play on it, I'll wait it out until a true new handheld comes out and buy that.

Discipline. It's a thing.

The original DS launched in 2004 and the 3DS was 2011.

That is fair, I thought you were being one of those, Nintendo can get away with anything type person. Yes it is basically one of those finish the level being you suck. People were chewing nintendo out for that one, but like I said, I never heard a peep about it when it was used in other games before and after.

Nintendo to me did a lot of wrong with the Wii U Pad for general consumer, I mean I love the idea of a second screen for RPG, but no one uses it. (Lack of JRPG on consoles, and the ones that do exist are not that great (outside of xenoblade).
