you clearly chose the right day to make that statement...

Your trolling is embarassing.....DDOS attack has ZERo to do with security....It is literally thousands of bots flodding servers with Packets, overload, Live went down oin january from the same thing. Get a clue.

what is obvious is an alt account saying embarrassing things :

http://www.linuxsecurity.com/content/view/121960/49/

That link proves my poimnt..,.....They use hacked.malware PC's to send thousands of packets to overload servers..did you even read it LMAO. Again Xbox live went down in JAN from the same thing.

did you ?

"DDOS happens due to lack of security awareness of the network/server owners"

The reasons are given below :-

1) Vulnerable softwares/Applications running on a machine or network.

2) Open network setup.

3) Network/ machine setup without taking security into account.

4) No monitoring or DataAnalysis are being conducted.

5) No regular Audit / Software upgrades being conducted.

LOL

That guy is a notorious fake. :P

Furthermore, the security measures Sony put in place after 2011 are absolutely cutting edge.

What is happening today is not a hack at all, and calling these kids "hackers" is really an abuse of the term. It's just a DDOS attack, which is something an organised group can do to simulate incredible traffic in order to take down any service. The same people took down Blizzard and a bunch of Twitch streamers yesterday.

And they made a bomb threat to the SOE president's plane.

??? None of trhose apply to sony...Xbox live is also down now you know that right?

DDOs is just mass traffic

That site is flat wrong. DOS is simply mass traffic pounding a server, LIVE must have bad secuurity then too.

This is just a theory based on speculation with no real evidence backing it up other than observation of the industry and most game devs skillsets. I think it may be fair to say that big dev companies have a very high dev turn over rate. Studios are always shutting down and devs are always getting fired without the chance of being rehired and having their work taken from them. Maybe some of the hackers are ex game developers that got screwed over?

Careful not to embarrass yourself further. But just so we can get a laugh, quickly, without looking it up online, explain the difference.

And then, do yourself a service and educate yourself.

Here, let me help you:

never claimed being an expert, but I do know that one of the main differences is in how fast you filter the requests

let's see if you take that bet on sig control

EDIT : and the main point is preventing DDoS is a security issue

Sig control bet with someone like you would be childish at best. But go ahead, explain what you have in mind.

EDIT: Then every single network in the world has security issues. Google, Microsoft, every banks, Amazon... Every single one. Now, please, drop it already. You were wrong, your blatant Sony hate exposed once again, and to top it all you've been schooled. Accept defeat and move on.

Hackers are gamers too, gamers are immature, hackers are immature too. So two immature entities collide creates a buzz on the Internet and garners negative attention. Negative attention is just as good if not better than positive attention it gets people like you and me talking
