Forums - Gaming - Microsoft Won’t Have a Tokyo Game Show Conference This Year.

They have already given up that market. Probably smart considering Sony is struggling there and MS has no chance of beating them there. Plus judging by their Gamescom conference I don't think MS has anything new to show while Sony had to cut things from their Gamescom conference and announced they have new reveals for TGS.

"Struggling" implies that Sony is putting up a fight and losing. Not happening. They've yet to release any real software that would push significant units. They simply haven't begun there.

In Microsoft's case, they probably know it's pointless to even try. Thus, they'll have a quiet JP launch and nothing more.

Indeed, so far only had a dynasty warriors game, a Yakuza game, a Final Fantasy game, a Metal Gear solid game on PS4 nothing that Japan likes;.

If Sony has an amazing conference they could kill the hype for Xone in Japan. This is a bad move by MS but shows they are still lacking Japanese content

Why MS even wanna try and release there is beyond me, they have no chance at all.

Add me if u want :)

Uhm what Xone hype?

I think you got misguided by the Xbox propaganda crew on this site when there was a time that they have posted articles how Xbone is supposedly selling out of preorders in retailers and that it's on top of Amazon.jp for 6 minutes, how there are dozens of games, etc.

There is no hype. There is only obscurity.

Sony has to overcome a way stronger competition than Xbone. Japanese gamers indifference towards home consoles, turning towards handhelds and mobile gaming, as well as convincing big 3rd parties that it's viable to invest in the PS4.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

That's pretty damn disappointing.. Oh well!

I've not been misguided by anyone, I don't believe anything xbox guys say unless they have proof. I never said there was much hype but there still is some hype from the people who are going to buy it and Sony could completely kill that off if the conference is amazing. Xbone will sell badly in Japan anyway but if Sony play their cards right it will be abysmal.

Sony has the tools to improve PS4 sales, they just need to prove it and announce lots of games for the Japanese audience. TGS is the perfect time to do it.

I should've been clearer, I was meaning Sony could convince some - who are planning to buy an Xbone - not to buy one

they shouldnt even bother releasing it in Japan.

Why?

If MS wants Japanese support then X1 should have a presence in Japan.

MS and Sony put their console is basically as many countires as possible. They don't expect big number in every country.

But hey, I'm just going with common sense.

Better question, why skip Japan?

Should they skip India and Korea too? What about Turkey?!

Hence, Japan is just one of many countries you'll find Xbox.

Sony are having a presentation on the 1st of September to present some things before the conference. I wonder if MS will be doing a similar kind of thing because the console comes out earlier.

Making an indie game : Dead of Day!

So X1 even worse of an failure than X1 in EU or 360 in Japan Confirmed.
