Forums - Gaming - "The Wii U is a better secondary console than the X1/PS4"

If you want the most cost effective way to have coverage of this gens quality games then the way to go is either Ps4/X1 + Wii U. Getting Ps4+X1 doesn't extend the variety of high quality gaming experiences you can buy. They effectively represent the same experience from the perspective of a gaming library.

The highlights of the Wii U library will never be avail anywhere else and based on history - its going to have the highest quality exclusives as nintendo is such a good developer. Anyone who cares about gaming is really missing out if they shut themselves out of Nintendo's library.

Bottom line - one console won't cover everything - not even close. But 2 should pretty much do it. So far - there's no compelling reason to buy all 3.

This is wrong, PS4 will get at least as many exclusives than Wii U that will never be available anywhere else. Like the PS3 in much better

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Not really.....

Nintendo is known for Platformers, Action/Adventure & Miscellaneous games (like Pikmin). You won't see platformers as good as Mario or Metroid on a non-Nintendo console.

Sony is known for Action Adventure & JRPG's. You won't see stuff like Uncharted or Ni No Kuni on other platforms (well not as much for the JRPG's)

Microsoft is known for shooters, you won't see stuff like Halo and Gears of War on other platforms.

I know you want to argue, but Forza = Gran Turismo and Halo = Killzone, well..... Metroid = Halo (single player), Mario = Ratchet & Clank/LBP, Zelda = Darksiders, etc

It all comes down to preference, if you don't like Mario, Metroid & Zelda then you might not like WiiU, but if you don't like Halo/Gears or Uncharted/Gran Turismo the same goes for XB1/PS4.

-----

What I have shown in the pages before was that WiiU has the most. Since Sony and XB get a lot of 3rd party support they don't need to make as many exclusives, but Nintendo is a lone soldier, they really need stuff like Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros to boost sales.

----

P.S. Nintendo handhelds are laegely known for JRPG's and Platformers, very different crowd then the WiiU/consoles.

The Nintendo 3DS is king of JRPGs. Plus I'm pretty sure Ni No Kuni was on the DS.

Nevermind, I notice your P.S.

do you want nin ip's or ms's ips?

My main is WiiU and X1 my secondary one! PS4 collects dust in its box :)

This is simple - 6 or 7 of the best selling games for the X1/PS4 are on both of those consoles.  All 10 of the top selling Wii U games are exclusives.

By owning a PS4, you still get to play many of the best X1 games, but none of the best Wii U games.

Simple math that should ultimately end this thread :)

This really sums it up here.

This is really poor logic yeah " its the best sellers so the only reason to buy the console ", so the best reason to buy the Wii is... Wii sport ? Seriously ?

Makes sense, especially with regards to not having to pay twice for online, but I guess it ultimately comes down to the exclusives. At the moment, the WiiU has it, so I'd agree that at the moment, its a better second console. But who knows what's around the corner...

pretty easy... you don't pay for online multiplayer... would you really pay twice for online multiplayer?

I've been doing this for over 3 years.
