I still dont think we've had enough traditional FE games to warrant spin-offs.

We've gotten 13. The 14th will come out this year. That's almost as many games as Zelda.

That...is a better reason to necro a thread.

Or the best reason: Now that people have actually played Hyrule Warriors, everyone has a better idea of what would work in a hypothetical Fire Emblem Warriors.

I like the idea of picking your allies and their position on the map before a battle starts, but I wouldn't overcomplicate things with items and character-swapping during battles. Permadeaths are also a big no. I would streamline the class changes by making them automatic defense boosts at level 20, 40, 60 and 80; the characters' appearances (their armor) would slightly change each time.

There's no way to make the Fire Emblem side of such a crossover the dominant force, so it's better to just go with the things that worked in Hyrule Warriors and add a few things that make sense for Fire Emblem.

I think the perma-death would only work with characters that aren't main characters. Hence the class system.

If you live in Japan. We're only getting #7 otherwise. Which means they have been more Metroid games then FE games in the west.

Which is where these two franchises appeal to...

Except Musou games are Japanese, so it doesn't make sense to talk about the West when talking about these games.

Yet they sell better in the West.

Fire Emblem yes, Musou no. But when they decide to make a game like this, they think of Japan first and foremost.

Yes.

So many great characters and styles. Also, be interesting if kept the relationship aspect from mainline FE.

That would be good to have supports. I should add that to the OP.

I'd rather have Super Smash Warriors!

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016
