The worst part is this woman called herself "feminist"... Is that feminism ? Using your woman body to get advantages ? Maybe Cersei was right...

Ok, the sex for hits is a problem.
The having sex with multiple people? Not a problem.

Pretty much this. It should be considered as "bribery" in my eyes.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Welll the radicial ones at any rate. I really hate how feminism gets a bad name these days because of those people.

There are numerous schools of thought which distance themselves from the "feminist" tag, yet still advocate for equal rights. An ideology is only what those who identify under it preach, and therefore the more vocal members will be the ones who define that ideology. Because of that, feminism is now synonymous with radical feminism, whether or not that is where the heart of the ideology lies and as such, it is perfectly reasonable to use the term "feminist" to refer to radical feminists, and it is perfectly reasonable to advocate for equal rights, while not self identifying as a feminist.

(I know this is a bit of a tangent to the topic at hand, but a lot of users "attacked" feminism, and I think that attack is perfectly reasonable)

She should not be having sex with people who she deals directly in business with

Why? Because she's "getting ahead unfairly"?

they should not be having sex with her

Absolutely. Her boss should not employ someone he is fucking. His responsibility is to employ people qualified for the job. The journalist should not be fucking her because it might compromise his judgement as a journalist. It's their responsibility to do their job. As far as I know, there's no risk of her mishandling her job making "video games" from her fucking them so it's not all that clear why she has a professional responsibility not to.

Bribery is an ethical and professional fault of both parties involved, not just one side. Both parties should take responsibility and receive scrutiny and excusing either of the involved parties comes off as bias and ridiculous.

Using sex to move up the ladder is nothing new. Move on people and deal with it. That's how I got my job at the office.

I have to ask, you got your job at the office by moving on and dealing with stuff, or by having sex to move up the ladder?

The wording in my statement is weird I admit that.

Maybe it would be easier if it was like this:

Using sex to move up the ladder is nothing new.

Move on people and deal with it, that's how I got my job at the office.

Or you could also say:

Move on people and deal with it.

Using sex to move up the ladder is nothing new, that's how I got my job at the office.

The two of them ar valid, choose the one you like the most.

Um, but those two statements have two different meanings. Statement 1 means you got your job by dealing with it, while statement 2 means you got your job by having sex to movw up the ladder. Which one is correct?

You sure like to talk about uninteresting things. As I said both of them are valid.

If you want I can make it easier for you so we can conclude this silly conversation. I dealt with the fact that people have sex to go up the ladder. And then used it to my advantage.

Satisfied darling?

Don't you work for your dad?

And?... Please... Don't go around judging my sexual preferences.

I can see why people might have an issue with some of the accusations here. This story basically call into question the integrity of gaming journalism and the industry as a whole. For me though, I personally don't care, I don't think it's really that big of a deal.

If your game is shit, it doesn't really matter how many people you slept with, the game is going to have bad word of mouth and people won't buy it. However, if she wants to sleep with me so I'll buy a copy of her game, I wouldn't be totally against it, lol.

Don't really see the point in the back and fourths here as the underlining issue is journalists possibly compromising their integrity here not the actual personal act of having sex, if Presidents can have their jobs called into question because of a bunk up then surely the gaming media can as well. Funny this affects Kotaku who are part of Future so I won't say much as I Mod one of Future's other publications.

I never seen such a big news about this sort of topic on gaming before. Is this sort of thing relatively new?

And if the thread starter is banned, maybe the mod can change the thread title if its inaccurate.

Nope, there was a worse case, though not as salacious, with an ign editor marrying a nintendo pr executive some years ago.
