Forums - Nintendo - When will Wii U owners be satisfied enough to accept a new console?

I have been satisfied since release.
If they keep up with the releases until 2016 - 2017 i won't complain.
Its not like the other 2 consoles have had many big exclusives yet.

I was actually satisfied since August 2013 after Pikmin 3's launch. However, I don't see the new console coming before end of 2017 atleast.
Pretty much Xenoblade Chronicles X, Bayonetta 2, Zelda U and Smash Bros are freaking awesome for me to miss. 2 of them are enough to satisfy me.
All of those 4 are in the franchises of games that are in my top 10 games of all time.
Pikmin and W101 were also amazing last year. SM3D World is good, but still waiting for Galaxy and that freaking next Metroid Prime game.

So I only want Metroid Prime, with a huge online multiplayer, and the next true 3D Mario(Galaxy is preferred).

I'm pretty satisfied with my Wii U right now which is why I decided to buy one a few months ago. Super Mario 3D World, Mario Kart and Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze have made purchasing a Wii U worth it for me. The only thing I'm waiting for is Super Smash Bros, everything else that's coming out that looks interesting is like a bonus for me (Bayonetta 2, Splatton, Zelda U, Sonic Boom)

What I mean is when will u be satisfied enough to be ok with Nintendo releasing a next gen console, since Iwata said they wouldnt release one until current owners are satisfied.

I'm satisfied with my wii u and can't wait to buy xenoblade, zelda u, Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem. But still waiting for some more jrpg and maybe a metroid game by retro studio.

So since ur satisfied does that mean ur fine with Nintendo releasing a new console when the currently announced games have released?

No, I think the best year to release a new console is 2017.

At least they shouldn't release one next year since it's going to the best year for the wii u ( too many great exclusives coming, amiibo, etc..). I'll be satisfied enough when i'll have those games.

I'll be satisfied if the quality games keep coming for the life cycle of the system, which needs to be a minimum of 5 years, so new console holiday 2017 at the earliest. I'm also waiting for the knock-your-socks-off phenomenal game for the console, as Super Mario Galaxy was to the Wii and OoT was to N64. Hopefully Zelda next year will be that game.

If they support the console until 2017 with big games like a 3D Mario, another Zelda (after Zelda U) and other stuff i'd be happy.

When Nintendo releases a steady stream of big AAA exclusives like a real god damn console.

Whats ur opinion on AAA? it seems like many people have different standards for what that means. If everything goes right Nintendo has a pretty solid list of games coming next year.

Kirby, Yoshi, Splatoon, Mario Maker, Star Fox, Mario Party, Zelda, Devil's Third, Xenoblade and likely a few more, is that a AAA lineup to u or do they have to be mega-budget mulitmillion sellers to be considered that?

Xenoblade, Zelda, and perhaps SMT x FE. Mario Kart 8 is AAA. Smash is AAA. The Kirby game is not. It's indie grade. Splatoon is not. It's A. Mario Maker is A. We don't know enough about Star Fox, but what they've shown is A. Mario Party is A. Devil's Third looks AA. And shit. Games like Hyrule Warriors and Bayonetta Ultimate/2 are AA.

Ok I edited the thread title, what I meant to ask originally is when will u be satisfied enough with Wii U to accept Nintendo dropping support and moving onto a new console since Iwata said they wouldnt until the userbase was satisfied.

So u most likely wont ever be satisfied with Wii U since it seems like Nintendo at this point is going to release just a couple AAA titles per year and a few smaller support titles in between.
