Forums - Website Topics - Why aren't there any female users on this site anymore?

Really? Looking at all the users with feminine anime-ish avatars and sigs, I thought most here were female. Hmm.

By this genius logic then there are more females than males on every forum/website that exists!

Actually, that suit is preeeetty advanced, so I doubt it's a very hot piece of armor if it can turn itself into a ball and fire missiles. I think there's a cooling system somewhere in there. Or n her Zero suit... suit.

Like I've said before, sexism goes way back in this business and that's where she picked up her bikini all those years ago, and it stuck. Whether or not it's a love letter to the fans, Samus received that suit because of female objectification.

But I don't feel like this conversation is going anywhere, do you?

This isn't objectification! Putting a woman in a sexy outfit (however practical it is) isn't objectification. Yes, she is attractive, and maybe she was made attractive because the game designers wanted to make her attractive, but who cares? There are plenty of attractive men in games and other media, but you rarely see them being targets of objectification tirades. She is in exercise gear, get over it and stop being so touchy. This doesn't harm women or women's rights in any way. This in no way is discriminating against women due to their gender. This in no way treats Samus as an object more than any of the other characters or more than any other costume.

This conversation may be going nowhere, and as you said, you don't have much to say on the matter, but people keep dragging you into it. While you don't have much to say, you choose to keep saying it, and if I see you saying something utterly ridiculous and unfounded, I'm going to call you out.

There is nothing sexist about putting samus in typical work out gear. It is only sexist because you (and the SJWs of the internet) are trying to make it sexist, and I think that is more of a personal fault than the fault of a game. If you can't look at an attractive woman without thinking that she is a sex object, that is on you...

The problem is where do we draw the line of sexy to objectification. Someone is always gonna say this outfit is okay. But another will say it's objectifying. I've had this argument in comic book forums a lot. A ton of people will always say Wonder Woman and the like are always objectified in every outfit she wears.

What do you want these women to wear? Will anything be acceptable? I personally agree with sundin. Samus alt. outfit is acceptable. And would be regarded as fitness training clothing. Hell, She-Hulk has a similar outfit to Samus. And is used as her jogging/weight room clothing. Do you want every woman who's in the gym to dress in baggy clothes and cover everything up? I personally think women are objectified with examples liek ADA in Resident Evil 4. Fighting in a red dress is retarded. The Red Sonja comic would be as well. And all those dumb "armor" outfits in MMO's are another example.

From another perspective here, who says it's our right to draw any line, to begin with?  Games aren't compulsory, it's a choice driven market.  We don't 'draw a line' with books, comics, movies etc... as they all have ratings.  When we start talking about drawing lines, we're approaching a censorship territory I'm not entirely comfortable with.

I should of been more clear. A personal line. Not a censorship line. Every person has their own tastes. Nothing would be agreed apon. Because everyones defination of sexy is different.

Fair enough, and agreed.  If it crosses your personal lines, don't buy it.

Quite right. There must be a reason why the Wii Fit Trainer hasn't been brought up in this conversation.

While checking out the hot topics section, I by mistake clicked on the last post header and so instead of showing me the most recent posts it showed the oldest posts on this site dating bak too 06. After seeing these posts and clicking on a few profiles of people who had posted back then I learned that there had been a couple of females who had on their profiles listed to being female something which is non existant now. Could someone please explain this and also why most users back then except for ioi are no longer active.

P.S: I am just trying to learn more about the site since I am relativly new. So stop thinking what you are thinking.

Why would a girl want to post with the annoying users on this site arguing over the same BS everyday?

Its not really about what is being worn, it is about how the character is portrayed past what they wear. I would say that DOA: Beach volleyball is overkill, but more because of the really weird gameplay (buy them gifts and maybe they will become friends with you, or you can just watch them and the independent boob physics) and not because they are largely well endowed women in bikinis.
