Well ever since they announced that the first game was being bundled in with Bayo 2 then I think it will sell much better than it would have otherwise.

It's not moot. People who didn't care to play the first one likely won't buy it just because it's bundled and available to them at a later date.

I wasn't going to, but since they are offering the first game I have no reason not to get it.

I was always of opinion that it's not a moot point. Because, for someone who hasn't played Bayonetta before, they still need to buy B2 to find out if they like it. 

I see inclusion of a first game more as a reward to existing fans rather than an enticement to newcomers.

Sales would surely be much higher had they, since they are already giving it for free, just put it on eshop as a free download a couple of months before release of B2. It would give newcomers a chance to try out and taste the game, and get hyped to purchase part two.

Sure, still include it on disc, but this strategy would net them much more sales. 

I don't know, it's a weird one. Nintendo seems to be marketing this one so it might end up with 1m sales lifetime, which is a success for this type of game.

I won't be getting it. Not my kind of game.

Though should I get interested down the road, the inclusion of the first game, complete with a slew of new features is a very welcome gesture, as I never did own a system capable of running that game.

Yes, its the only game i will buy for the Wii U this year.

Its sad this genre is dying, this one will be awesome, I hope hell blade is good as well so that it can spark a revival.
