Forums - Gaming - Anti-Sony: PS4 hate?

New IP, old IP, doesn't matter, the definition of moneyhatting remains the same. And if you want an old IP that was moneyhatted by Sony, look no farther than GTA on PS2 (timed exclusive for III/VC/SA).

Point is, Sony paid to have a game come exclusively to their platform, and not to others. If they felt Tomb Raider was so important to PS gamers, they could have paid for the development, publishing, and advertising like MS did. The end. Moneyhatting is moneyhatting, and they've both done it, whether it be to get an entire game or some exclusive content.

Of course it does! The problem is not the act of "moneyhatting", but what you moneyhat. It's like saying "punching is wrong". What about when you defend yourself? Or when you try to protect someone? You can't simply ignore the context and say moneyhatting is moneyhatting. Oversimplifications are bad because they provide a distorted view of the situation.

The GTA example is once again not good enough for a valid comparison. GTA was not a franchise that became successful on xb/ninty consoles and Sony moneyhatted Rockstar to get a huge timed exclusive.

@bolded. Couldn't disagree more. That's not a viable option for any company. They can't start moneyhatting Final Fantasy, Street Fighter, Tekken, Kingdom Hearts, Tomb Raider, Metal Gear, Assassins' Creed, COD, Battlefield, Dark Souls, etc. I mean when does it stop? They are way too many important third party titles to fund.

That has got to be the biggest joke ever. Activision came out with that series in 2011 and you say that Nintendo had planned this all along because of this NFC reader build into their controller, a feature that they could have easily build into there in a matter of months. Stop being ridiculous and just admit that Nintendo, just like everybody else, sometimes looks at what works for other companies and then tries it for itself.

You never want to grow up do you?  I can't call you a killdren because you don't fly planes. lol

That comment makes absolutely zero sense to me, if anyone could explain what the hell you're talking about, that'd be very much appreciated.

Watch "Sky Crawlers" anime and that would give you the answer.  You need to get out more.

You need to be reported now. Calling people delusional, childish, not wanting to grow up and need to get out more! It's clear what you are doing here. MODs correct him please.

If it makes you happy I'll leave the thread.  Don't forget to report me ok.

*sigh*

Where did I say all games should be moneyhatted? A select few will always be moneyhatted every generation. It sucks to be on the losing side of the moneyhat, but I'm sure plenty of Xbox owners were disappointed when they found out that GTA SA was going to be over a year late to their system.

You talk like Tomb Raider was a Playstation-only franchise, when it wasn't. The franchise has spanned these platforms- Dreamcast, Game Boy Advance, iOS, Macintosh, Mac OS X, MS-DOS, Microsoft Windows, Mobile phone, N-Gage 2.0, GameCube, Nintendo DS, PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Portable, Sega Saturn, Wii, Windows Mobile, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One.

The game was originally released for Saturn and DOS along with Playstation. The franchise has spanned over a dozen platforms. Thinking that Playstation users should be entitled to one is rediculous. The only people entitled to the game are the ones developing and publishing it, and they did what was best for them.

                                                                                                               You're Gonna Carry That Weight.

Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC

Everything gets hate when it's popular. Wether it's a movie, a game, a console, an artist, etc...

But to be honest, even though there are people constantly trying to "attackt" PlayStation, the Xbox One and the WiiU are the consoles getting the more hate, even though it seems to be receeding.

Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean you are necessarily right.

Call me crazy, but is it just me or there seems to be a lot of anti-sony hate goig on?

They call it constructive criticsm, or hide behind the whole if you don't agree then you are a troll and bla bla bla, but I think I have noticed a couple of things.

  1. Look up any and every PS4 exclusive game that has been announced and released. Before the 5th-10th posts on most gaming forums it deteriotes into sony bashing or how the game sucks, is generic, looks boring, looks short(?), is a new IP so it wouldn't sell well, is just like *insert game name here* cause its in the same genre. Every single PS exclusive.

  2. Then lets talk about features, sony announced share play and PSnow(which is still in beta). These are two features that at least if got right could be a game changer. But the amount of negative coments about them, especially being that almost every single person making such comments have never used the service, and most of them probably don't even own a PS4 is shocking. Can't help but wonder what would happen if this were a service coming to xbox or nintendo.

  3. Then look at hardware, a much bigger deal is made about the PS4 wobbling when placed horizontally and how the touchpad is a useless addition than about how the XB1 is weaker, kinect needed to be taken out and is pretty much inessential to core gaming, or how even nintendo first party doesn't seem to know what to do with the wiiU screen. Look at the comments regarding morpheus ad then look at the comments regarding occulus rift.

I am not saying that sony should get a free pass for every and anything, but I just think that everything sony seems to be met with more negativity than positivity. Is it that thre are just more non sony gamers on forums? Or the vocal minority that hate sony just seem to be doing a really really really good job of it?

I mean I am not a nintendo fan (anymore) or an xbox fan, but I have never been in a thread bashing a nintendo/xbox game. Any single one of them and thats not cause i Think they are all great, same applies to xbox games; I just know that not having or never playing those games puts me in the least position to have anything constructive to say about them). I do bash the xbox hardware, but not even in a sesne that its weak and should just die, but rather the policies at MS that made them go with hardware like that to begin with and I bash nintendo for how stubborn they have continually always been. But never the platforms directly or their games or features. But it seems some people make it there job hating on everything sony, almost as if it raped their kid sister, killed her and raped her again with a DS4.

I am not going to call you crazy, because you're not. You just have what is called 'hostile media bias' and it's not uncommon. Basically your own strongly partisan view makes you more sensitive to Sony critisism than negative comments about things you are less emotionally invested in.

Some people dont think either the last of us or PS4 are gods gifts to the world = Sony gets the most hate.

The xbox fans have been bashed into submission on this site from people who obviously prefer sony. Nintendo is doing so badly pretty much everyone bands together to have a laugh when bad news gets reported, even nintendo fans. Of course there are definatey the overly zealous fans out there who like to put down for the sake of putting down, this is from all sides though.

Sony fans are the majority here, and there a few fans who refuse to cop any criticism because the winning console is above criticism.

Just wanted to point out that the bolded statement isn't true. There was a poll on this forum and we found out that the numebr of nintendo fans here far outnumber every other fansbase. They aren't just as vocal right now cause they don't have any ammunition to use, same goes for some xbox fans. But my point, and the point of this thread is that they still seem to go out of their way to find a way.

Go out of thier way to find a way to not like things that happen to be done by Sony?

In a manner of speaking, and in relation to those kinda people. That is exactly what I am saying. Some examples of people really trying to find something wrong where there is none.

  1. TLoU:R - released exactly a year after the original, but got flak for being a remaster like there has never been a game of the year edition of games before. Needless criticism.
  2. Indiestation. this one i find funny cause when those poeple come and talk about indies, they just conveninetly ommit the fact that the PS4 actually has just as more or more AAA exclusives and AAA multiplats as any other platform in addition to all those indies they complain about. So in other words the PS4 simply having them makes it a bad thing.
  3. Appaently the PS4 sells on hype alone and the 10M+ people that own it have nothing to play on it.
  4. share play, PSnow and morpheus are all really destined to fail even though none of them are fuly out and the only one that is available now is in a beta.
  5. PS4 games get flak for being what they are... They make it racing game... meh, its just a racing game, open world racing is better, they make a thrid person shooter.. meh, its just a TPS, another TPS is better, The make an atmospheric looking game, too serious, needs more colors, they make a colourful game, looks like windwaker....etc. Its almost as if every other platform has patented every single genre and everything sony does is copying a "genre".
Not saying other platforms don't get hated on too, just that the stuff i see or the reasons some members here seem to have for hating on something PS related, just seem really really really strange.

The fans of Sony is what makes me dislike them.

What? The Xbone and Wii U has taken way more flak than the ps4 in these forums

This, I haven't seen much hate on PS4. (Note I'm not saying the PS4 hasn't had any hate, just not that much)

Really?  When has Sony done something like Amiibos?

Activision and Disney have done it already. Nothing new here.

The Wii U was made for developers to do that.  When did Sony do something like that?  Lets not be delusional.

What the heck are you talking about? Amiibos are a clear cut copy the Skylanders and Disney Infinity toys, simple as that. Your comment doesn't even make sense, the Wii U was made for developers to do what?

The gamepad has NFC techonology built into it. I don't know if this technology was a part of the gamepad before Skylanders and Infinity came out, but Nintendo has been planning on using this technology for a long time.

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.
