Their ratings are proportional to how much advertising the game gets in their mag and how big the games' publisher is in Japan. They make most of the western press look like a bastion of integrity.

I'll always remember how they gave a 29/40 for Demons' Souls (a low rating by their standard) but once the game hit big and Bamco started paying for page space in their magazine for the sequel, Dark Souls ended up with a 37/40. Three 9/10s and a perfect 10. How about that.

its in top 40 at best buy and gamestop and walmart to for a while

The game will do well in Japan, OK-ish in America and in Europe it will bomb pretty badly!
