Watchdogs increased a higher percentage of PS4 sales but it was heavily marketed with the PS4, alongside having exclusive content and a bundle. It still had a effect on Xbox One sales. Looking at all other 3rd party releases (Tomb Raide, Thief, Wolfenstein) both systems hardware actually responded very similar to each other in terms of their % increase/fall. 

Theif: XO -13%, PS4 -17%
Tomb Raider: XO +5%, PS4 +5%
Wolfenstein: XO +1%, PS4 -1%

Looking at the above, Its only logical that both systems will increase by a much higher percentage once next gen only games are released, obviously occasssions where the specific games are bundled with should see a higher percentage increase in sales for the hardware its bundled with. Now this isn't proof that the Xbox will outsell the Wii U, but with only 10k between their baselines, its hard to imagine that it won't with all the big upcoming 3rd party releases vs 1 big Wii U holiday release which doesn't even have a release date yet. (Smash Bros)


You do realise that wii u has more titles coming? I think bayonetta will do wonders. And even if you think the games coming are not big, they are exclusive to the wii u wich are insentives to get the console. All those games coming to the xbox are not exclusive, so if somebody wants to play those they will get the best console at the same price, so not the x1. Those games will only help the people who already want the x1 for its exclusives wich are very few.

I don't think Beyonetta will do better the Sunset Overdrive but time will tell...


I dint ignore  it. I agree with the sales references. I just think that after last gen games stop coming, the ps4 will increase a lot more then previously estimated and the x1 will increase less because by the time that happens, the ps4 will have to many exclusives on not available on the x1, and multyplats will be better so we will see a decrease in sales for the x1 while an increase for the ps4.

You are the oneignoring what Im saying. Multy plats are going to help, butnot as much as exclusives will. Multyplats alone will benefit the ps4. You need to be interested in the x1's exclusives to consider guetting the inferior version of a multyplat.

Xbox one has it's fair share of exclusives like Halo, Gears, Forza, Sunset, Dead Rising 3, Tomb Raider, Phantom Dust, Spark, Crack Down, Titan Fall, Fable, Quantum Break and more. These game series will have multiple entries while Nintendo only releases one major zelda,kart, smash bro game a gen. Not only this, but slightly better multiplat games doesn't matter to most consumers because they can hardly tell a difference. Ps2 outsold xbox despite multiplatform games being inferior, so did the ps3. Because slightly inferior games mean nothing to most consumers. If they cared about graphics so much, PC gaming would be more popular.

Uncharted 4 will sell more then halo 5. Its a no brainer when the ps4 is 3:1 the x1's installbase. And even if games dont sell more, they will move more hardware cuz halo fans are the first to buy the console and they wont wait past halo MCC, so by the time halo 5 comes, all intereted in that game will already have bought the console. The same can be said about all of xbox repeteive exclusives wich are shooter based and one driving game, each wont attract more people cuz they aim the interest of the same so they are either not interested or already have the console.

Hard to defend nintendo cuz I see your mindset that belives nintendo only has these games you know and wont even bother to see what else they have. But Ill try. Pikmin, smash, kart, xenoblade, zelda, bayonetta, hyrule wariors, sonic, captain toad, zombi u,wonderfull 101, devils third, fatal frame, pokemon, metroid, starfox, donky kong, mario 3d world and future spin ofs. I know you might look at this list and say its all a bunch of niche games that non have the mass apeal and sales as halo, and you might be right, but take a closer look at the list of games and at the list you mentioned for the x1. All of the x1's games you listed are shooters wich will basicly appeal to the same people, even if they are the majority, and one rcing game and a creation game. While nintendo, I mentioned almost all diferent types of games including puzzels, adventure, rpg, actions, fighting, racing, shooters, strategy, platformes, horror, creation, open world, fan service and theese are only a few games I know of, there are probably a lot more and more to come. You might think that they are all niche and shooters are all that matters, but toghether all theese games will appeal to almost everyone, wich is a better than just shooter fans. And since the ps4 will be number one by a lot, the wii u will stay confy at second place by being the default secondary console.

I hope you understand that multyplats arent everithig. Those last  2 gens where the ps3 and ps2 dominated the xbox. People dont mind getting the inferior version of the game they like if in trade off they get other games to play like the ps2 and ps3 offered last gen. While ms rehashed the same names over and over, sony had a bunch of first party studios making new games that not only triple in quantity of MS, but also they where better rated. This time around there is no trade off, sony has both tthe better first party and the best multiplat, and on par online. This time, there is almost no reason own an x1 unless you like halo, cuz everithing else sony does better.

Halo - Will move consoles though less than before.  The fertile window for Halo has compressed a lot lately. It sells REALLY well to the army of faithful but doesn't convert that many new people any more.  Agreed it will do well though.

Forza  - declining franchise

Sunset - could be interesting

DR3  - will be a front loaded 3 week wonder

TR - the timed exclusive wont help it much.  And really who gives a fuck about TR in 2014?

Crackdown  - first crackdown was a 6 week wonder.  Second one was a SERIOUS sales dissapointment and required massive discounting to limp over the million mark 2 years after its release.  It lost a pile of  money and did nothing to sell consoles.

Your first paragraph makes no sense at all. Xbox and Playstation sales always increases significantly each year with the new COD or Fifa releases. So why won't it happen for Halo 5, Halo 6, ect? You obviously didn't think that out did you?

Second paragraph is biased written all over it. Playstation fans are HUGE shooter fans that is why their biggest selling games are shooters. Is little big planet, infamous, knack, pupeteer, mod nation racers, teraway cracking the top 10 best playstation games? No it isn't.  Playstation has a lot of games that are like Nintendo games but they aren't buying it. And xbox has a lot of games that aren't shooters too. Project Spark,Killer Instinct, Forza, Fable, Scalebound, Dance Cental, Disney fantasia and more. So there is plenty of games to buy an xbox one for if you are not into shooters. Its just a known fact that playstation fans are into shooters.

Mulitplats do matter a lot and Nintendo is suffering because of it. And again no one cares about multiplats on which one looks superior as long as they're identical. It's just ps4 fans clinging on straws similar to the 360 fans. Case and point is Bayonetta being so shitty on ps3 still sold more on the ps3 then it did on 360. As long as they play the game who cares. Plus, sony line up for the next few years looks weak to say the least. Not counting f2p, remaster ports or indie titles they have The order, BB (excited for this game) U4 (excited for this game) Wild and that is about it. And knowing Sony some of these games will be delayed like Drive Club.

@Bold: Just one thing I want to clarify, You call me biased but dont bother to check what your saying. I never said PS fans dont like shooters, in fact I know they are the most versatile of the 3, they like everithing, shooters just tend to be the majority. Something that canot be said about the xbox fans.

But again, just a quick reply cuz I dont care much anymore, the front page has to be information enouff to finish this thread.
