funny enough he is a serious Xbox fan who never bought the PS3 EVER!

God. All these PS4 owners make themselves look pretty silly. They're making this a bigger deal than it is. They're basically playing into the hands of the Xbox fanboys.

Sure it's absolute bull what the PR released but it's the usual PR bull we're seeing everywhere. No need to rant. Just sigh, roll your eyes and move along.



If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I know he likes to drag out his childish rants but yikes, what can he possibly say to justify 14 minutes. I made it a couple minutes in and am already bored. What a whiny bitch. His videos are pretty good when he is just giving an honest review or preview with some personality. This is just sad to watch.

He only gets upset when his current console of choice doesn't get a franchise he loved from the previous generation. He got upset when Bayonetta become a Wii U exclusive - despite the fact that the game wouldn't exist if Nintendo didn't step in (and he even acknowledges this, yet still complains). 

I will agree this rant is pretty silly, but it was entertaining nonetheless.

Or if it does comes to PS4 just wait for it to be part of the PS plus game collection.

And never really watched this guy rant up to now, it's somehow entertaining.

It seems that he felt insulted by the silly "letter to the fans" more than anything else.

Well obviously Microsoft would have to look after its own interests so the decision makes sense on their part.

Extremely poor decision by SE though, they really hurt the Jrpg market the last generation by producing a whole bunch of exclusive rpgs for xbox which all went ahead and flopped. Again it was a commendable effort by microsoft to increase their fanbase but it affected the Jrpg genre negatively and it never recovered.

One thing last gen showed us was that Multiplat is way of the future, because the threshold of sales required to make a game profitable has risen considerably and games have to target the maximum amount of consumers.

Hopefully something similar does not happen.

Tomb Raider sales (assuming $50 average and not including digital sales)

 

  • PS3 2.22M ($111M)
  • 360 1.71M ($85.5M)
  • PS4 460k    ($23M)
  • PC 270K    ($13.5M)
  • XB1 170K    ($8.5M)

 

Sales/Money got from PS3, PS4 and PC = 2.95M($147.5M)

Sales/Money got from 360 and XB1 = 1.88M($94M)

PS3 sales alone is more than 360+XB1 sales combined.

PS4 sales is 3 times more than XB1 sales. Which could indicate that sales on the sequel could have been 3 times more on the PS4 compared to the XB1.

And this is not including digital sales on the PS3/4 or 360/XB1.

Just looking at these numbers, he does have a point. What square enix did here was hold the game off from the user base that gave them their most sales. Thats really all kinds of stupid if you ask me. Then again, I can see MS having paid $30M up front for this exclusive deal and waving off all royalty fees on the game for the duration of the exclusive deal.

Its all good, just means I buy it in 2016 sometime, but since they have started this... it will be the first used game (and physical copy game for that matter) I buy for my PS4. unless they release it on PSN for under or around $30 (which won't happen cause then the PR spin wil be we wanted to take the time to make the best version of this game and we are hapy to announce that its coming to PS4 with all dlc included, this new game mode and bla bla bla.... so yh, $50)
