When exactly do VG numbers get adjusted? I'm new here.

One would think they stay on top of official numbers or at least have a separate tracking chart for "released" official numbers.

Whenever they please it seems. It's a damn joke if the numbers aren't fixed soon. Sony couldn not have been more clearer, they even took the time to specifically point out that it sold through to consumers, not just sold through, but sold through all the way to the consumer and they did that for a reason. VGC has taken many hits this year, hopefully they react fast this time.

Yeah you'd think they would have done that as soon as they got the official word...

I think VGC should just scrap their entire tracking altogether and just update sales based on Sony, MS, and Nintendo's sales/shipment announcements. They can just add up NPD and Media Create numbers to tally up LTD totals for US and Japan, respectively.

Nah, just adjust the number, and figure out where they were failing. Compensate in the next few weeks (AKA, that means putting the PS4 significantly ahead, I know that'll hurt VGC, but it's the truth). 

In my opinion, adjusting the number isn't enough. VGC will just screw it up horribly again in the future. Their methodology just plain sucks. It doesn't use any proper techniques of biostatistics. Their sampling and extrapolation methods are incorrect. If Sony announces 20 million PS4s sold to consumers when VGC has it at 18 million sold, it's the same story all over again. There's no point for the existence of VGC's numbers and the site should just do what I suggested above.
