But that game was on PC (released the very same day) and Mac. I think that one was just a development decision, try looking into TR2 instead but even that still appeared on PC. The lack of PC version is the most mind boggling of the first thought of deal for many. |
This game was supposed to be released for Xbox and Gamecube too, until it was exclusive for PS2, I remembered that at the time there were rumors that Sony had "bought" the exclusivity on consoles (maybe Sony thought TR 1-4 helped sell a lot PS1 hardware between 1996 and 1999, and worth buying the exclusivity of the franchise, in the particulary case, that game). Soul Calibur 3 was another case. Even in the same E3 2004, there was talk that made some games (Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater and GTA San Andreas), exclusive for a period of time on the PS2. GTA SA was only released on the Xbox in 2005, despite earlier games (GTA 3 and GTA Vice City -double pack) were also released on the Xbox. The console manufacturers do not really care if the game is released on PC later or in the same time (Titanfall fellings), the console manufacturers want exclusive with great commercial appeal to sell more hardware for core gamers and casual gamer gamers. This is the point in having exclusive on consoles, selling more hardware over direct competition (in this case Sony vs Microsoft vs Nintendo).
