Why on earth is moneyhatting frowned upon? Google "moneyhatting dirty" and you will see what I mean, so what's wrong with it? Is it a BAD thing to secure games for your console, and get sales? Now we all know about Microsoft's parity clause. THAT is truly dirty (and probably the reason Sony doesn't moneyhat often). I understand it can be an annoyance, but all the hate surrounding it isn't necessary.

If your favorite console was the victim of an opponent's moneyhatting, suck it up. It's called healthy competiton.

Growing something organic is something that takes passion, love and hard work. To make have an internal studio create genre defining games (Nintendo of the 1980's for example) takes a certain love for the craft and that in turn signifies to the gaming community that it's genuine. You can't creat something yourself with your own two hands like some of these indie guys without having a passion and love for gaming.

Moneyhatting on the other hand, is cheap and souless. You don't need to care about gaming. You don't need to KNOW gaming. All you need is a bucket of money and bam, instant hit. It's like taking steroids in baseball, hitting 73 home runs and claiming to be the GOAT. You're not the GOAT, you're a cheater who didn't have the talent, drive OR love of the game enough to work on your craft and do it on your own. It's not admirable at all.

This is why people dislike it. None of us like pretentiousness and when you have to RELY on moneyhatting, you're a fraud and everybody knows it.

So by that definition Sony is a fraud for moneyhatting the entire GTA franchise during the PS2/Xbox era?

C'mon, let's not pretend Sony or Nintendo is an angel. They are all guilty of moneyhatting, it helps them compete. How many more PS2s were sold simply because GTA came out a year or more on that console before Xbox/PC?

You keep saying that, but don't have proof that Sony payed to keep anything off the Xbox. It is just a weak tactic you keep using to defend this obvious crappy move by MS.That is a fact that MS paid to keep this game from releasing same time on PS.There are no facts that Sony paid to keep anything off the Xbox, just because the games released forst on PS2 (which was way bigger than the Xbox) and it made sense for developers to put games exclusively on PS2.Also GTA had no association with Xbox the way TR has with PS.So it would not be the same if they did pay for it, as MS paid for Bioshock, ME, Gears,Dead Rising and many more which were never released on PS and no one complained. The fact is that you lost this argument and can not admit that.Let it go.
