Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Rise of the Tomb Raider Timed Exclusive for Xbox

So much salt. This just proves how third party games are very important despite how fans try to downplay them (compared to exclusives). This also shows that Microsoft won't be passive this gen which is great for competition.

By moneyhatting a mediocre looking entry in a declining series? Paying for a game that almost nobody talked about at E3 simply not to be on other consoles? That's a wise use of money, lmao. It's like Microsoft refuses to learn.

This pretty means one thing; Microsoft knows they don't have a strong lineup for 2015 and are absolutely terrified of Uncharted 4, so they pretty much threw so much money that they drove a company to alienate the fan base that started it's series. I wonder if CD already forgot that both of Tomb Raider and the definitive version sold better on PS3/ PS4?

Before this, Microsoft had Scalebound, Quantum Break and Halo 5 off the top of my head, before any third party games, off the top of my head. Likely Forza 6 as well. If you prefer the PS4 or WiiU line-up, fine. But its just sillyness to pretend MS doesn't already have a great 2015 line up.

Being completely realistic though, the only really strong game out of that list is Halo 5. Quantum Break and Scalebound will good, no doubt, but with Uncharted 4, The Order, BloodBorne, GT7, Guerilla's new title, and SSM's new title, all (potentially), coming out in 2015, those two simply won't cut it. MS is going to need more exclusives, and I guess this is how they're gonna do apparently.

You just listed two major games, Uncharted 4 and G7. Bloodborne is amongst my most hyped titles for next year, but it will sell in line with its predecessors, not push consoles. Even GT is sliding.

Honestly you mostly just listed titles with comparable pulling power (or less, half of them arent announced or revealed lol) to the ones I did.

Not sure what TB is but ok. Whatever floats ya boat

Check out my hype threads: Cyberpunk, and The Witcher 3!

Smells like a timed-exclusivity deal to counteract UC4 to me.

I fully expect this to come out on other platforms in 2016. It'll be as "exclusive" as DR3 and Ryse were.

Geez, what a buzzkill. Sounds to me like you think I am right. Otherwise you would have no problem with betting. Why does it matter what you get for winning?

You are not getting me with this "haha, you know that I am right and you are just scary you lose"-crap. You can do this at Kindergarten, really.

This is all about a GAME, nothing more. Hell, it is even less, it is being right about exclusivity of a f**** game. Really, there is nothing in getting more to bet on such crap.

Getting you? I just want to bet since you said it's NOT timed when I said it likely was. You challenged my claim, ffs...

So if people disagree than automatically a bet arises to finally settle the right afterwards? Yes, this sounds like a mature way of dealing with others and their opinions

And people shouldnt be calling it timed until we get an official PS announcement.

Until then, the game is an Xbox exclusive.

Right, well not playing this then....

They're gonna have to really add a lot more guns and remove a lot the climbing and exploration to fit in with the modern Xbox scene.

The Last of Us remaster pushed consoles and you're trying to say Bloodborne won't? It has a very dedicated fanbase. Trust me, it will shift a considerable amount.
