Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Rise of the Tomb Raider Timed Exclusive for Xbox

I don't know why people are so worked up with this.

Maybe I'm too used to see games coming and going away on platforms. :(

It's funny to read here, especially when I remember the time the TR reboot was revealed people (not generalizing but many from Sony side did it) hated on it, looking like Uncharted and uninspired. When it was released many of these people said it was ok but nothing ground breaking and where criticizing it for not being their beloved TR anymore.
Now it is moving on to another platform where a lot of people (including me, having played 1-4 of the old TRs) liked it the way it is.
Sometimes it seems people just search for opportunities to hate on MS. This topic will stay for weeks, months and the moneyhatting itself for years. I guess this will be the top spot on N4G for days to come.

I'm not sure a lot of people are hating on MS though, they are hating on Square Enix.

Found the prefect quote here:

Instead of investing this money in a great first-party title, Microsoft is paying off Square Enix to not release Tomb Raider on other consoles

Who says they didn't do both? How do you know now what they are doing with their budget? And how does this change for MS? It's an exclusive. 1st or 3rd, where is the difference for Xbone customers?

A disgusting tactic by Microsoft. Not surprised either

Or.. people can be annoyed because a game was announced for multiple platforms a few months before, is now exclusive to one. Not everything involves petty console wars.

Reading on forums we can't get another picture. Console gaming is serious business.

I don't see how you can even defend this (well, I can because I know you). It's a shit move that deserves the shit it's getting thrown back at it.

The One and Only

VizionEck.com

I don't blame Microsoft at all to be honest. They're trying to sell Xbox One. I can understand that.

I blame CD or the overlords at SE. It's one thing to announce a title as multiplatform, and then change it a month later. Especially for a series that's been available on multiple platforms for over 20 years. Then proceed to spit in their faces with lousy claims of "oh we're not walking away from you."

I don't think you realise how many people only buy/have enough money for one console

I loved TR. It was one of my favorite franchises. Loved the reboot as well. Was looking forward to the sequel.
But I'll be damned if I need to buy another console to play it on.
I'll eventually get over it, learn to live without it, I probably won't care in 15 months when it comes out.
I'll just have to enjoy only Uncharted when I could have been enjoying both.

Fuck Crystal Dynamics and their idiotic PR guy.
Fuck Squeenix and I hope they choke on every single dollar Microsoft paid them.
Fuck Microsoft and their inability to develop a decent franchise.

Yes, I am bitter. I'll get over it.

You  don't know me as I don't know you and it's better this way. I am not defending it in any way as I hate any moneyhatting - this includes Sony as well. I don't know why you are slightly attacking me but usually people get personal if they don't have any good arguments left...
