The problem of tlous remastered it's not the game itself. It's one of the best games from 7th gen and it's good to have the choice to enjoy it on the 8th gen for the first or second time.

The problem is that Sony uses this remastered to cover a hole of months without good games, do you think people (specially) ps3 owners buy a ps4 to play the same game again?

People buy systems for new games. If they want to play last gen stuff get a PS3 or use PSNOW. Remakes of games are okay by me as long as they arent used as a vehicle to sell more DLC(TLOU, GTA). They are not ok by me if they are taking away from the release new games or used as an excuse for devs not to make new games.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

There is a hell of a lote more hate for EA Access.

Equally, people's primary argument against the products are fundamentally different.

One is about value (TLOU:D being expensive, originally full price), the other is about access (the idea that EA is unlikely to continue adding new titles to the vault, or may start removing them). Not a relevant comparison at all.

And if you insist on making it, it won end well. TLOU is fantastic. It also cost nearly double a year of EA Access...

Not so sure about that. There have been several (really a LOT) of anti-TLoU remaster threads. I want to know how you measure it. I could count the threads and show you easily that you're wrong but I'll let you prove your claim.

EA Access arguments are really about value too though. We're discussing $30 a year here so of course people will talk about if it's worth it or not.

I measure it based on the extraordinary amount of EA Access posts I have been asked to moderate, combined with my own observations of the prevelance of bashing comments and threads. Bearing in mind EA Access has been newsworthy for all of two weeks, if that, I'd say its not even close.

I have no intention of counting anything though, but if you'd like to go through that, be my guest

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

Damn, I think in 3 years we will still see threads of people trying to justify the existence of Last of Us Remastered, which is just going to bring the "hate" out with it.

Also, how on Earth are the two related at all? Especially since Sony, the ones bringing LoU HD, are not allowing PS4 owners to have that choice of EA Access.

Well then as others have pointed out, on VGC there is no equating them. EA Access has copped far more flak on these forums than TLOU:R. Maybe try a different forum, where perhaps the balance is different?

I don't know.

Really?!? I see a lot of people defending EA Access by saying it gives gamers choice but also a lot of people slating TLOU:R (of course there are people doing the opposite, ratios, I don't know). I'm just bringing in a different POV on things.  Also like stated in the OP, it's more about remasters in general while using TLOU:R as the main example because it the most recent and one that seems to taken more flak than ones before it.

If you are for remasters then why are you arguing. If not, please explain why. Also if you are one of these people that says EA access give you choice, why doesn't this apply for Remastered games. We really do not need somebody to point out "bu bu bu but wees get more flak blah blah blah". Contribute to the debate, give us your opinion. Having a debate is fine, having your own opinion is fine, locking horns over opinions is fine.

Fair enough.

In a sense, both offer gamers choice. If that is the beginning and end of the question this thread raises, then the answer is self-evident.

Anyway. Instead of playing the victim. Do you think Remastered gives gamers choice? If yes then why are you even arguing? The post is about remasters in general but TLOU:R is used a the example because it's the most recent and seems to have taken a lot of flak. Therefore it's a great example to use

@bolded not only MS fans like the service.

Your argument of choice is different from what other people have said about EA access. The reason it's brought up is because Sony made the choice for their fans about the service and bashed it instead of letting fans choose themselves. TLOUR is a choice of buying it, same with DLC, microtransactions, consoles or just about anything in a store. The 2 terms of"choice are not the same because with one there was no choice.

"Sony fans would understand why we like EA Access."

Judging by the fact that EA Access is X1 exclusive and you use the term 'we', you are insinuating that comment is on behalf of MS fans.

But the thread isn't anti EA Access anyway, it isn't even pro EA access. It's a pro 'Remastered' thread. Show me where I said anything bad about EA Access. Maybe you should practice what you preach and stop defending EA Access when nobody is attacking it.

@bolded I repeat: NOT ONLY MICROSOFT FANS LIKE THE SERVICE.

When I say "we like it" it literally means "the people who like it". There are Sony and Nintendo fans that like the service too.

The first words in this thread are literally EA Access. Did you expect me not to talk about it or something? If you try to compare the two in the OP/title then do it right.

Kind of tired of threads about TLoU:R whether it be defensive or criticism. THis is becoming the next TitanFall topic, though not quite that bad.

Correct me if im wrong but i believe people's complaints with TLoU stems from the price more than anything.  YOu know people complained about Tomb Raider's price as well

Is that really something to complain about though? Yes, TLOU: remaster is a port of a year old game. Yes, it's not necessary to buy the game if you already own the PS3 version. But an improved version of the game with added bonuses (DLC) for $50 isn't bad. I just don't see why its getting focused on so much lately. There are lots of other titles that get a remaster that don't get half the effort put into it (Resident Evil.REmake anyone?), that get ignored entirely.

About covering the hole.. It takes time to port a game to another system, optimising the engine, adding improvements to it etc. Sony and their WWS are hard at work at developing future titles. TLOU just so happens to fill the gap between a quiet period.

For EA access, its a little too early to make a judgement. Though the price for it ($30) seems fine. But yeah, it really depends how frequent the games release (and quality of games) to see if its worth subscribing for.

For some reason people think I'm having a go at EA Access which I'm not. I find it quite ironic that people come here saying they hate people constantly defending TLOU:R while at the same time defending EA Access when nobody is even attacking it.
