Forums - Sales - Its over for the 360

MS will definitely drop the price. They can't maintain sales with only a $50 price drop in 36 months.

It's pure fanboyism to think that the RRoD will affect them that much. They wrote it off in fiscal 2006. It's a done deal.

Yeah PS3 is like dead in Japan aswell
Its behind by 7 million

If PS3 can come back it seems 360 can gain back its momentum, which it hasnt even lost in NA

I just belive all this premature talk is going to end up with some of you wearing pie on your faces.

I hope your being sarcastic about the PS3 being dead in Japan. Seriously its released no big games in Japan (some okay selling ones like DMC4 and HSG). Once FFXIII hits in Japan I expect the PS3 to outsell the Wii for quite some time. The problem is when does it come out. Hell even MGS4 would make huge numbers in Japan.

what big games does the ps3 have coming out in japan anyway?? i cant think of any except of final fantasy

Since now it seems that the PS3 is beating the xbox 360 in sales in America I think the 360 is done for.

Woahhh!!

Hold your horses their killer...

While this does look bad for the 360, we can't forget that the 360 has been supply constraint for the past two weeks, and its suppose to stay that way till March.

If this does not translate into great games, it's meaningless. I don't care what numbers the PS3 does. I'm more worried about games, and the 360's lineup is still far better than the PS3's.

Ya for now. The 360 had a head start so of course it would have more and better games. Although this year looks dry for the 360. The only huge game (Also very awesome game may I remind you) is Gears of War 2.

There's more to gaming than huge games, Roadkillers. Tales of Verspiria, for example, is sure to be a quality RPG.  Plus, the 360's current exclusives aren't going anywhere.

There also games that have not been annouced yet that hit later this year. Mass Effect 2 is already in development, I believe, and chances are will hit later this year. Also, as you've already stated, Gears of War 2 is comming out this year. Then, there's also Ninja Gaiden 2. The 360's lineup is anything but dry.

It wasn't that long ago when the Wii was beat in Japan. People were quick to declare it the beginning of the end for the Wii. Well, those people were flat out wrong. Even the DS was dethroned for a while.

Don't be so quick to declare a victor based on a few weeks of sales.

Okay, I admit I don't really understand this.  Did they write off future repair costs for the next few years.  It seems like RRoD is still quite a large problem.  Are they not incurring debts on top of the 2006 write off for the still significant amount of failures?

Sorry, I'm allergic to bullshit. That whole "supply constrain" excuse is getting old, I demand proof.

Quality games dont sell consoles, we learned this from Phyconauts (Spelling) and Okami. Oh and I forgot about Ninja Gaiden 2 which will be a big game. Although dont say anything about Mass Effect 2. You dont know what console that will be on.

Did you get that joke from I, Robot? Either way, you are win.

I figure the top end for the 360 is around 40 million. Which is still pretty good for Microsoft. Much better then last gen.
