Forums - Nintendo - Can Wii U ever regain decent 3rd party?

OK it's obvious to everyone that the Wii U has been flailing in the mud when it comes to 3rd party support. Hell I think the PS2 had more 3rd party games on it last year than Wii U. But companies like Activision and Sega shown they won't give up till it's all done. And then there's Ubisoft who kinda supports it. When I say kinda I mean they do release games but they either make us wait until the other versions have been out for a while (i.e. Watch Dogs) or they're sitting on titles, waiting for sales to jump up before they release them. But could Nintendo get back other companies like Square Enix, EA, etc if the sales drastically improve? I'm predicting 11m by the end of the year, and I know it will reach 10m at least. So if it does and really goes past predictions could 3rd parties come back? I think 2015 would be a great time for them to. With all those good Ninty games coming out and the MK8/Smash Bros wave of fans guaranteed to still be wanting a Wii U in 2015, I think the console could easily peak next year, which is why (if they do) 3rd parties should and would return next year. And once the wheel gets rolling, I'm sure more will join in, which could easily pave the way for 2016 with Wii U

Yup, once systems start moving. But they'll never get games built for PS4/X1.

I think it can, when sales get to 20 million or so Atlus, Namco and Sega will publish some JRPGs in it, and probably Nintendo will give Capcom some incentive to get Resident Evil. Maybe Konami will join the fun with a new Silent Hill as well...

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Exclusives? If they provide incentives and support, I'm sure we'll see some projects from the bigger Japanese publishers for the Wii U.

Multi-plats and western developed titles? No. Stick a spoon in it.

Right or wrong, publishers and developers believe that the markets for most genres are elsewhere and Nintendo has done very little up to this point to prove them wrong or to give them a reason to bring full support.

100% agree

They can if the Wii U suddenly begins outselling its competitors by a wide margin but in this current society its highly doubtful.

As others have said Nintendo will need to go out and support other devs to attain those games: ie Bayonetta 2, Devils Third.
Nintendo can easily do this but they are also money conscious as well which will hamper such decisions.

Nintendo would have to lead the way with their own FPS/TPS/Adventure/serious sports games/simulations. Once they have shown the games can sell on their system, third parties will take notice. See PS3 for details.

Hopefully, but I doubt it.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Honestly even if it started pulling 100k per week per region, the time it takes to make big games nowadays means nothing would get done before the gen was basically over anyway.

They could get back some of the cross-gen multiplats that endure further along (though with EA still being the knobs that they are, they'd be the only ones who would really do anything, but they won't)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

i keep hearing people say this and i cant imagine why. Its not like the big Japanese companies have done anything for WIi u anymore than Western publishers. Hell they've actually done less
