Is it Possible for Super Smash Bros (3DS) to Ship Over 3mil First Week Worldwide? 

My Predictions are the following...

US: 1.2mil

Europe: 800k

Japan: 1mil

The Rest: 200k

Total of 3.2mil

So what do you think?

Unlikely.

Nintendo has been forced to play the "pre-order" game. How many ships will depend on that. But sure, if there's a lot of preorders, then retailers will order alot of units. So its possible.

First week? Impossible! And I can safely bet on that and win. You wanna bet tbone? UH? UH?

I don't think so! 2 million-2.5 million might happen, but 3 million? Nope, don't see it happening! :-/

Its not impossible XD. It'll do at least 2mil and possible up to 4mil. Unfortunately we wont have numbers for it (especially if its on a different release date in Japan).

How about this, wats your estimations on First Week Sales (WW has only 1 day, Japan 2 days) for each major region? (US/Europe/Japan)

Eh... they could, but I don't think retailer confidence is enough to make them order that many copies. Mario Kart sold something like 1.1 mil first week. Smash will be more front loaded and releases during the holiday, so I think 2 million is well within the realm of possibility for FW sales, albeit a bit optimistic. 1.5-1.7 million seems more likely.

I don't see them ordering that many copies in excess of what they'll sell week 1.
