This is all bullshit. Microsoft gave them cash are offered to publish it exculsively for them, simple as that. Either way, the game is going to nothing in terms of hardware sales.

Ted Price is usually a honest and down to earth guy as far as people peeved at Insomniac they are actually working on a couple of PS4 exclusives starting with a Ratchet and Clank Remake hopefully they don't screw that up. Back to the topic at hand Sunset Overdrive is Insomniacs test drive with Xbox One it will a moderate success at best considering they have come of a S*** Streak of crappy games the past 7 years(Resistance Sucks) lets forget about Fuse aswell. Sunset Overdrive is the ultimate redemption card for this studio and hopefully they deliver another classic, my expectations are pretty high this studio has been nurtured by Mark Cerny and was even a Sister Studio of Naughty Dog their has to be some type of greatness left in this studio.

It's not about money though, I'm sure Sony would have gladly funded it but they would have required ownership of the IP, which made it a no go. MS, on the other hand, let them keep the IP so why not? Maybe it'll go multiplat eventually.

I think that they said something about this in the past.  I guess Sony just assumed that they would have the upper hand since they have such a longstanding relationship and got a little to greedy and wanted rights to the IP.  I'd also assume that MS offered a lot more money though.

Insomniac's rationale is pretty crappy, considering Destiny is not only multiplat, but on last gen and already does multiplayer open world, not to mention in terms of network capabilities Xbox has "Azure" but so does the entire rest of Microsoft. There is no valid technical reason for it to be exclusive unless A) Microsoft owns the IP, which I really doubt or B) Microsoft bought exclusivity

lol why are people saying money? It's the IP factor. MS is allowing them to keep it, Sony is not. They said this before.

After their last flop title it is pretty obvious they were in dire straits financially. You can be sure that the big bag of money offered by microsoft was extra tempting. I dont see sunset overdrive selling a lot though and sadly this might be the nail in the coffin for the studio. 2-5 months after release i predict we will see the closure of insomniac. At this point the only thing that can save them is being bought up and completely funded by either MS or Sony.. Maybe a wild nintendo will appear out of nowhere

If they get to own the IP I think thats reason enough to choose MS over Sony or 3rd Party publishers... Just ask Inafune =(

In other words: We're happy with the money they provided us with.

Nothing he mentions that can't be done on PS4, or WiiU or even PS3 for that matter.

When the game releases they will have to explain this again.
