Forums - Nintendo - Safe To Say 3rd Party Support From Wii U Is Pretty Much Gone?

I'm going to be laughed at for this, but just like in Hollywood, most blockbuster movies now suck and are only explosion filled crap. Most 3rd party triple AAA titles in the future will follow the titanfall, destiny, COD style and unless someone like firaxis starts releasing their games, 3rd party, on consoles, I couldn't care less about 3rd party games.

I can understand developers being cheap and lazy when it's a PS4/Xbone only game, but when it's being developed for 2 weaker PPC consoles and not WiiU; that's when it just boggles my mind. This anti-Nintendo agenda is getting a little out of hand.

8th gen predictions. (made early 2014)
PS4: 60-65m
WiiU: 30-35m
X1: 30-35m
3DS: 80-85m
PSV: 15-20m

Monster Hunter Frontier G, also coming to the Wii U in the West so i don't get why you think there is "no games from Capcom coming".

Not to mention, I have a gut-feeling Ubisoft will continue support.

still better than Wii U, not that it makes a difference fedfed was way off his comment no matter how one wants to spin it

Edit: according to this site. WIi U is at .09 sales. 360 at .19 so 360 did more than half Wii U sales. there both terrible but Wii U still isnt close. Both got destroyed by PS3 version at .57

WiiU has about 7M sold VS 80M for the 360 though...

thats nice...wasnt really my point

Are you sure?

positive. My intial point was fedfed said something that was FACTUAL wrong. Wii U version was not the best selling one, quite the opposite. Those are facts it doesnt matter what the install base is doesnt make my statement wrong.

honestly i feel that some people use the whole install base to justify crap sales. yes they are important but there are way too many games that sold better on systems that had less install base than the competition most of the COD series. hell every 3rd party game on xbone sold better than its WIi U counterpart. Dance games notwithstanding and skylanders? Hell RE Re sold 3 times as much on ps3 as 360 and they sold about the same.

Now i know what you would say, but late ports, not good ports, whatever. Which is my point you just cant say install base and call it a day, way more factors.

I really don't understand Capcom's logic regarding Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate for the WiiU though: " Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for the WiiU was a smash hit and that's why we won't bring MH4U over to the WiiU" :-/

you're throwing smash hit around pretty freely

Well, that's what Capcom considers it to be, no?

Hyrule Warriors and Fatal Frame V are both financed by Nintendo, they're not true third party projects, those are 2nd party games in effect.

The only third party games I think we can reliably say are coming for Wii U in 2015 are

Just Dance 2015: With 30% More Katy Perry

Skylanders

Disney Infinity

1 game from Sega apparently

LEGO Hobbit 2 (?), LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2 (?)

Project: CARS (maybe?)

The Lego games will come regardless and those always sell like hotcakes on any platform. Project CARS will come regardless (considering it was promised to Wii U users before PS4 and One users. Sega hasn't been too hot either. The next Sonic game on PS4 and One will likely suck too.

guess the standards must have dropped.

Edit: i believe action speaks louder than words. If they really felt that we would see a follow up. Maybe we still wiil...a true follow up not some spinoff/port

Not really. Many WiiU owners had probably played it on the 3DS...which has the best selling version.

Just to inform both you and AZ, the reason 3U was ported to the Wii U is because of online play

With Capcom refusing to even give the Wii U a port of RE REmake (a game that debuted exclusively on the GameCube in 2002) while every other major console platform gets it ... it signals kind of a new rock bottom for Nintendo consoles.

To be fair, Resident Evil REmake was released on Wii in 2009. It's possible that Capcom aren't releasing it on Wii U for that reason - otherwise, it would have been on Gamecube, Wii, and Wii U. Maybe they figure it's overkill.

Which Capcom are you thinking of? That sounds exactly like what Capcom would normally do to me (pump as much of the same thing out as possible). Street Fighter anybody? :D
