We don't know for sure, but they will probably make a PC port if Quantum Break somehow ends up sucking or bombing..

Only xbox exclusives!
When people see Nintendo or Sony logo in the game they know it's an exclusive.
MS games on the other hand may come to PC or even other consoles eventually.

Look, if you want to cite games that haven't been on PC in almost a decade, be my guest. Things have changed now that the Xbox brand has taken off, and there is no way Microsoft releases new iterations of their major franchises. Fable used to be one. It isn't anymore, simple as that. Comparing it to the latest Gears (which was pretty mediocre by itself) does not help your point. Like I said, tell me when Microsoft releases a new Halo, Gears, or Forza game on PC. |
Well it's obvious now that you have nothing to back-up your initial claim.
In the mean time I'll just finish summarizing and correcting the things you stated as facts :
"if it's a major franchise MS doesn't port the game to PC" --> wrong, all three major MS franchises have all been ported
"Halo and Gears haven't been on PC since 2004 and 2007 respectively" --> wrong, 2007 and 2007 respectively
"Gears is a major franchise and Fable is irrelevant" --> wrong, Gears 4 sold less and had a worse score than Fable III
"[Fable and Gears (the games you cited] haven't been on PC in almost a decade" --> wrong - 3 and 7 years respectively

I dont recal anybody caring at all and I owned those 3 games on console and pc. People play games when they are new and fresh while everybody else is talking about them and playing them also. Whats the release date for Dead Rising 3 on PC? Does anybody even care? |
To be fair it's not like many people cared about Dead Rising 3 when it came out on the XBOne either. That Capacom DLC does look funny tho.

1. Ported years ago, sure. Like I said, show me a RECENT game from a big franchise not called Fable (which is hardly that big nymore). The last one was SEVEN years ago, at the beginning of last gen.
2. You have a point here, Halo 2 came out in 2004 but was ported in 2007.
3. Gears of War 4 isn't out yet -_-
4. Covered this up top. I said some, not all, and Halo 2 originally came out in 2004 and Gears came out in 2006, both were ported in 2007. Pretty damn old and closer to the end of a decade. I'm not even including Fable here because, like I said, it is no longer a major franchise for Microsoft, not after how bad they botched the last one.
You're Gonna Carry That Weight.
Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC

Then what does that tell you about the PC version? Yes, the capcom dlc does look funny.

But the glimpse of gameplay and remedy's track record indicates this game has the potential to be a big franchise. Now we all know that it is exclusive to Xbox One and its fine by all means. But in past we have seen remedy's games to be released in PC platform. They were late but they got PC release. What are the chances of PC release of quantum break? I say there is 70% chance that it will come to PC; after a few years of course. What do you guys think? |
Probably quite high.
Seeing that porting from console to PC is very easy (ergo cheap), and the game licence will be with MS, I can't see why they would not try to sell on an extra platform (also a platform that has grown in the last few years).
It would be good if they pimped it for the PC, but tbh if the story is good, then I'm sold as that is the main attraction for me with games now.

Maybe I am misremembering but I seem to recall more of an anti hype for the game pre launch. A lot of negativity around the game.
I will probably pick it up in a sale at some point.

Well, Alan Wake got ported to PC. I also remember that Dead Rising 3 used to be an X1 exclusive until it was also announced for PC this fall. I say that there's a good chance that Quantum Break will be released on PC. The bigger question, I think, is how long after the X1 version's launch will the PC version be out?
