Forums - Sony - PlayStation Now Open Beta Starts NOW!

Streaming is the most likely future for games, not happy with it myself, but for a while disk will be around for at least another 5-10 years, so by then it will be fine :)

It will certainly fix the problem of piracy... but I'm not sure how its going to benefit the real big games.

One thing Sony needs to do ASAP in my opinion is get all their PS3 exclusives on there. Prices could be lower since the publisher doesn't need a cut of the money, and a lot of people would probably love to see games/franchises such as Killzone, Uncharted, inFAMOUS, Demon Souls, God of War, LittleBigPlanet, Ratchet and Clank and more on the service.

But then nobody would buy their remasters ;)

why shouldn't prices be all over the place?  surely games like CoD should demand more money than games like doki doki universe.

i haven't reviewed what is on psn but the publisher has a say in setting the price just like they do on psn/xbl.

Sure.. I can understand that but what makes F1 2013 22.99 and MGS4 14.99? Age? But then why is Deus Ex 12.99?. Confuses the shit out of consumers.. Just set tripple A to 14.99, C games to 7.99 and 11.99 B games..

namco vs konami vs square

2013 vs 2008 and massively successful vs 2011 and kind of a flop

to buy digitaly on psn:  59.99 vs  ???  vs 19.99

or better yet,.. to buy on amazon:    $39.99 ($58.60 on 360) vs  $18.70 vs $12.09

...so are you confuzed as shit by amazon?  do you demand that amazon sets all prices based on the label AAA, C, and B?

Retail prices are determend by availabilt, stock, physical storage etc.. There is no reason to use that digitally.. Especially when you are renting stuff.. Go rent a digital movie.. There aren't these kinda difference out there..

I think they should create a netflix style subscription service for access to all Sony PS3 titles as well as anything else they can get relatively cheaply (older or less popular titles). People really seem to want a cheap subscription service for PSNow and that would be a cost effective way of providing it. Would also get a lot of people through the door, who will hopefully then also rent some extra games.

i checked itunes, comcast on deman, and SEN's movies and in all cases there is are ranges in prices depending on the movie you pick.   the ratio from the most expensive content to the least expensive content in all case was at least 2.5 (premimum / cheap) meaning a bigger range in prices than what you listed.

you should check  the itunes rental prices again.. don't get confused with the buy prices..

New releases cost $4.99, SD $3.99
Movies from the back catalog  $3.99 in HD and $2.99 in SD.

Same price for Amazon..

Sure some movies are 6.99 or 14.99 to rent but those are the movies who are still in theater or advanced home release..
(which is awesome like Snowpierer http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LP9E79U/ref=pd_sim_mov_aiv_5 )
but you don't have that with videogames.. and sure there can be diferences from store to store but this is 1 Sony store..

This won't end well. We're deluded if we think Activision & EA won't abuse this situation. It'll be constantly full retail price for COD, FIFA, FF titles to buy, with the option to hire for 30 days for 85% of the price, or the like.

The prices we see now don't reflect what the price will be should retail copies vanish.

I sincerely can't see how ridding us of the used market is a good thing.

The problem I have is that I cant just buy a full game.
