2 things...

1. Your comparison of 35mil to 2.8mil is totally terrible. MK8 sales are 1month vs MKWii 35mil lifetime. MK8 will be over 5mil lifetime, possibly 6-8mil depending on how much wiiu gets lifetime. Also your not considering the fact one game is on WiiU vs the Wii and Are ignoring Every other MK sales. MKWii was huge cuz it was on Wii, thats all.

2. Though i Believe Destiny (ps4) Can be best selling game on a single platform, there is 1 or 2 games that can possibly detrone it this year. But thats a maybe

1. It was a mistake to put lifetime number here. I should have put 1 month sales there. But I cant find any solid number.

2. Who is stopping nintendo to make mariokart 8 a big seller like maritokart wii? Me? Or nintendos poor descisions?

3. Destiny will dominate this holiday. Nothing will stop it. Nor COD, not GTA V, nor farcry 4.

2. Your right, the HW is doing terrible, but for a userbase as tiny as that, 2.82mil is very impressive for mearly 1 month of sales. There is no denying that. Comparing it to 1 runaway success is kinda wrong. why not compare it to MK Double Dash for example?

2. Its very impressive. And nintendo fans love this series. But when I see people omitting games like watch dogs which sold way more (I know its a multiplatform game) it just cracks me up.

3. Two? One is super smash bros. And what is the other one? They will do well. But you honestly think (I just checked pre order numbers) it is possible?

How can you exclude combined sales? Watch dogs released across multi platforms, each sales counts its total sales. You can't just turn a blind eye and say MK8 sold more...when it didn't!

That is hysterical. Nevertheless, a great achievement.

The reality is MK Wii had 6 years to sell. MK Wii had a much higher install base and it sold only about double of MK8 if it were relased at the same time.

The reality is watch dogs has shipped 8 million copies. Watch dogs also got the same time as mario kart 8 (I know its a multiplatform game). I played by the clever rule OP used.

Mario Kart Wii had waaaaay more competition on the Wii than MK8 on Wii U as you can see from this.

For July 5th 2014 there's only one Wii U game in the top 30. The Wii had 10 games in the top 30.

Can't we just say "its selling great for a WiiU title" and leave it at that?

Ok we feel bad. The WiiU is doomed. Our life now has less meaning.
