Nooo.

Fromsoftware made Fromsoftware a respected studio. Sony just provided tools,they could still made a shitty game.

Sony was apprehensive to go for a game like this, but you can see why. Sure they didn't put much funding into it, but sony is the reason that the souls series exists.

Sony sure helped make it happen, which is why support is good for developers of this kind, but the credit is largely From Software's , Miyazaki specifically.

Isn't the Souls series the successor to From's Kings Field series? All they really did was update it, change the controls, and create a similar setting.

From has been a great company for a long time. Demon's Souls just gave them more Western recognition. It wasn't even till Dark Souls that the franchise really blew up either, and that's a multiplat.

The sad part to me is that Sony has the rights to Demon's Souls so it will never become official Dark Souls canon despite fitting so perfectly into the lore of Dark Souls.

Otogi on the original Xbox was the first From Software game I came across. I didn't actually like it, but loads of people did. Averages 80 on Metacritic (8.6 from users). I think that had a lot to do with From Software's reputation.

that is far from the truth

demons souls was co-developt by sony and souls series use sonys engine.

So irritating when someone doesn't respond to something like that.
