Forums - Nintendo - Have Nintendo finally discovered hype?

They certianly improved the most with the hype levels!!!

so.......yes. Continue improving Nintendo - keep hyping up stuff.

I really wish they had gone the extra mile to hype Super Mario 3D World a bit more. It has sold well enough, but could have done better. They are now doing the Mario Cat show thing on the Eshop which is hilarious.

We haven't really seen a significant Nintendo Direct since E3. They need to make a new one.

Yeah their marketing has improved a lot over the past few months. PS4 didn't have that good of a marketing campaign IMO. For me, I saw Xbox One adverts the most.

I don't think it has much to do with Nintendo.
It's more or less the Nintendo fans that are doing extra shifts this gen to hype everything that's coming out.

Nintendo brings the content and the events but I think that was always the case. It's just that they hype is more visible now.

As usual the same people who always buy Nintendo consoles are picking one up. Hype has nothing to do with it (it's still selling poorly anyway) so they have at least 20 million hardcore fans.

That's the problem. The hype/sale ratio is absolutely screwed up when it comes to Nintendo. That's why there will probably a lot of disappointement and doom after SSB will absolutely not sell according to hype.

It's especially misleading in this forum as the Nintendo hardcore fans are the most vocal here which makes Nintendo seem more popular than it actually is.

I think its just the investors took away their hookers until they make some money...

Hype is meaningless, well except for most of the "hardcore" who are easilly manipulated and suckered into it.. Quality gameplay shines over any amount of hype.

Oh c'mon, give Nintendo credit for this. They've mucked up enough things this generation.

So they were slacking off last gen?
