I don't think it has much to do with Nintendo.
It's more or less the Nintendo fans that are doing extra shifts this gen to hype everything that's coming out.

Nintendo brings the content and the events but I think that was always the case. It's just that they hype is more visible now.

And Sony fans haven't been hyping the PS4 then??

How in the world does anything I said relate to Sony?

I'm baffled yet again.

You are a Sony fan right? You say that its mainly Nintendo fans hyping the Wii U, to an extent you are correct, but the same can said of Sony fans hyping PS4.

Well the hype so far has had the benefit of raising Wii U sales from terrible to merely bad. I guess we'll wait and see if the other hype games can raise sales further to mediocre.

Bravo, im sure Nintendo would have much preferred the pre- Mario Kart 8 sales.

I don't even understand how that's a response to what I wrote.

If you want an interpretation, it's that you are over-hyping the effect of Nintendo finding a bit of hype mojo. At least on the basis of current sales evidence. Perhaps the hype train will be an unstoppable come the holidays, but I don't think it will be.

In my OP, i did say that there is a long way to go, but i like the sudden change in attitude by Nintendo, so i didnt think i was overhyping Nintendos hype mojo.

Also apologies for my sharp response, i misread into the context of your post and thought you were being sarcastic :)

My post had a little bit of snark in it no doubt. But not in the way you intterpretted it. Any improvement in performance is a good thing I just think people are getting a little too excited about a fairly minor improvement.

And?

Apparently people don't remember how they hyped Donkey Kong Country, Starfox 64, etc. back in the day. They might have lost it during the Wii days but then, they didn't need it then.

Sure, they're doing better but that doesn't change the fact that after MK8 theres a 3-4 month gap with no good games.
