Nintendo securing Bayonetta 2 and Devil's Third reminds me a lot of when they got No More Heroes and Mad World on the wii. Sort of trying to expand the demographics, except these games are sort of the hormone addled twelve year old's idea of mature (I am glad that the op put mature in quotations) and won't go far in changing anyone's preconceived ideas of nintendo. I'm sure that comes off harsh but I don't mean it to be, I rather enjoyed no more heroes and mad world, though bayo wasn't my cup of tea; I don't mean to imply that they lack merit, besides the real difficulty is more that the audience they attract is very niche and their overall impact on the wii u's success will be minimal.

Would a Ninrtendo funded Beyond Good and Evil attract anyone from PS-Xbox? After all they are still friendly with Ubisoft.

RTS was almost the obvious game type I thought of when I first heard about the gamepad. Would RTS games like Total War, Europa Universalis and Starcraft attract any mature gamers?

You're including the later PS4 port in that figure, right?

The game is made by Nintendo so no port is possible.

Not is it not being made by Nintendo, it wouldn't be the first time a 1st party published title ends up on another system.

Not that I'm predicting or expecting it, but this is still laughable.

I don't know these games are more for teenage boys than anything else.

Yea where are the SRPGs and RTS's for this thing? I think something like starcraft might be a little much for the gamepad's touchscreen, but something a little less fast-paced might work.

These games are good steps partly because of the more mature style but also because of the genres they hit up such as 1st/3rd person shooter and action, strong online elements and most of all that they look like quality (at least in B2's case).

The other big step is Zelda and it's more mature style. Yes, I mean that seriously. B2, D3rd and Zelda all represent titles that core gamers would like to pick up.

It's a game made by Nintendo and totally financed by Nintendo. Nintendo hold all the rights of Bayonetta.

Not even close to your distribution deal (Ninja Gaiden) Sould Calibur 2 was also published by Nintendo on GC with Link in it. But it wasn't a Nintendo game.

Well they could help Crytek out I guess...

What does crytek even have left worth saving?

Crytek USA is mainly former Vigil staff who made Darksiders. They are in Austin Texas and close to Retro Studios. They could expand Retro. Retro has a couple former Vigil guys anyway.

Yup.. That's why the majority of gamers who bought Bayonetta were teenagers, right?  Oh wait...
