Forums - Nintendo Discussion - what is your favorite LOZ game?

A Link to the Past followed by Wind Waker HD (I also had the GC original).

Difficult to pick one. I like the 2D and 3D styles pretty equally, so I can't really put a 2D entry in the series over a 3D entry. That said, my favorites used to be A Link to the Past & Ocarina of Time, but I think now A Link Between Worlds has taken ALttP's place.

Wind Waker or Majora's Mask, depending on which game's most notable flaw is sticking out in my memory the most at the time; either the Triforce Shard fetch quest or the awfully aged controls from MM.

A Link Between worlds feels a lot like a refined ALttP in a lot of ways. There's not much that really gets in the way of you getting out into the overworld and exploring right from the beginning of the game. The wall mechanic is pretty interesting as well and makes for some clever puzzles in the dungeons.I also liked that you could gain access to a lot of weapons that would usually be reserved for late-game use in other Zelda games.

Overall I just felt it was a really fun game to play.

Tie between Ocarina of Time 3D, Majora's Mask, The Wind Waker HD, Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, Minish Cap, and Spirit Tracks...

I love 'em all, but...

For its time: The Legend of Zelda
Stands the test of time: A Link to the Past
Best polygonal version: Tie between Ocarina and Majora, with Wind Waker HD very close
Best handheld version: A Link Between Worlds

There... managed to mention all of my very favorites somehow.

Ocarina of Time
A Link to the Past
Twilight Princess
A Link Between Worlds
Link's Awakening
Minish Cap
Wind Waker
Majora's Mask
Legend of Zelda
Four Swords Adventures
Oracle of Seasons/Ages
Adventure of Link
Phantom Hourglass
Skyward Sword

I did not play Spirit Tracks.

I honestly don't see what Ocarina of Time had that make so many people consider it to be the best Zelda. The biggest Zelda game it seemed to me is Oracle Of Time. That game had so much to do and so much back-tracking everytime you'd get new powers and weapons.

Maybe it's because I was younger at the time, but I feel like the recent 3D Zeldas are generally smaller in terms of world. I can also say that I tend to dislike the 3D Zelda games (Ocarina of Time, Spirit Tracks, Phantom Hourglass, etc.). I feel Zelda is better suited for 2D games, and Oracle Of Time (didn't play Seasons) is probably the most complete Zelda game I've played.

Did you change your mind about 4 times while writing that or what...?
