Why though? I we would you want any console to be less popular. It's good for the industry if all consoles are popular. I'd understand if you wanted the wii u to be more popular than the Xbox one but it's ridiculous to act this way. honestly you should be ashamed 

PS4: A return to the platformer greatness they championed in the PS2 era

Xone: Less Microsoft...seriously, especially with Windows 8 everything about Microsoft irks me.

i was about to say different one's for all three of them but seeing this and replaying Fallout 3 eariler this year with a ton of Mods i agree i wish Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo would have mod support that give all of their games a billion times more life

Honestly anyone wanting any of the consoles not to exist or be less popular are being silly. We should want all the consoles to be successful. A LOT people enjoy those products and it's downright insulting. Stop being fanboys

These devs/pubs bitch and moan about the costs of development, then kneecap their franchises by not allowing mods, which as you say, adds longer legs than they could ever hope to do on their own.  Will it work for every IP?  Probably not, but for those it does...the sky's the limit.

Don't blame developers or publishers, blame the platform. To mod effectively, you need access to a lot of system resources, which the console manufacturers certainly won't provide. 

A lot of those devs leave their games wide open for mods on PC, because it is much more open than the consoles.

3DS: It should have no 3D, just call it Super DS, its gimmick should be that you can play Super DS games on the Wii U (the same way it was possible to play gameboy games on SNES and GBA on gamecube) as long as you have a Super DS to use as controller. It would also let you remote play Wii U games.

Wii U: Call it Wii 2 or Super Wii. No gamepad because you can use the Super DS as a gamepad. It can play Super DS games as long as you have a Super DS to use as a controller. Just make it the most powerful console you can make that you can still sell for USD 250 breaking even. It should come with 2 controllers, one a new controller that is a wii mote + nunchuk all together, the second controller a normal pro controller.

Both should have an account system, and you shouldn't need to buy the same game twice.

PS4: Backwards compatibility, not paying for online if you don't want the free games, just use the online for the games you bought.
