Forums - Nintendo - Could Wii U be doing better if...

If it launched holiday 2013 alongside PS4 and XBOX One. Just listen to how they could've spaced out the games and I think you'll agree it would do better if it were like this. So in November it launched with Super Mario 3D World, Nintendo Land, Pikmin 3 and Wii Party U alongside other 3rd party titles (EA Sports, AC4, CoD Ghosts). Then once January hit they could've released small games like Wii Fit U, Pokemon Rumble U and Dr. Luigi as a cushion to at least keep sales up. In February DKCTF would've came out and then March they released The Wonderful 101. April had a drought but then in May Mario Kart 8 came out. Also could've got Monster Hunter somewhere in there, maybe a drought month but either way I think this would've helped keep sales of hardware and software higher. WindWaker HD could've came out later this summer with a bundle after the Mario Kart bundle ended.

If the Wii U launched holiday 2013 alongside PS4 and XBOX One... what would have been their plan for holiday 2012? No games for home consoles at all? NSMB U in SD for the Wii?

Agreed. They have talent, no doubt about that. But they are so ignorant and refuse to change to what the market wants, instead trying to make the market want what they want it to want. It worked with the Wii but that was a fluke. If they were to embrace change and then maybe they could have a really great console.

and what the market want is...?

ps4.

Nintendo should start making PS4s...Good idea.

I was hoping the Wii U would be like the PSOne. Cheap to develop for, not the best but decent specs (not what we got, something like an XBox 640 if you will), appeals to both casual and hardcore without pandering to one crowd, lots of 3rd party ports because of decent hardware (smh).... That didnt happen.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine
