PS4 + Vita bundle is likely, but using it as the only SKU? Maybe they should forcebundle a Bravia TV, Xperia Phone and tablet and sell it for US$ 2000.

Catastrophe is a better word. Millions of people losing their jobs, and the Japanese Economy would take a big hit, possibly even negatively affecting Nintendo as well.
And if that happens Wiii U still might not pass the PS4.

I think you a better chance of winning the lottery and being hit by lighting while being attacked by a shark holding a 4 leaf clover.

Have you stop to consider that F-Zero, Star Fox, Fire Emblem, Kid Icarus and Xenoblade are also lesser exclusives? (when compared to Zelda, Mario and maybe Metroid) More multiplat support would help out Nintendo, that I can agree with. I like to think that Sony has been in the game long enough NOT to coast when in the lead but who knows.

The Wii U has a chance at winning this Gen, right now it looks like an uphill battle all the way through however.

Tbh, i dont really care about Nintendo winning the gen, i have already had tons of great gaming experiences on my Wii U, and thats not including whats on the horizon. I really would however, love for Nintendo to sell a healthy amount of Wii Us to make the whole project worthwhile to them, and to also garner some positive vibes from the gaming community.

well, fortunately for all involved the general consumer noticed during the wii generation that nintendo wasn't big on qualiity like sony and that refused to support wiiU especially as it attempted to coast through the entire first year on no first or third party.
