The assumption that VGC's preorder charts are an accurate representation of preorder numbers is not an assumption I am willing to make.

Oh please...Too easy said "VGChartz number is wrong"...

VGChartz with pre order of COD MW3, BO2, and Ghost was agree, why will be wrong with AW?

Oh, trust me, I am no Call of Duty defender...its just that there is so frequently stuff that makes no sense in these pre order charts that I feel like VGC just pulls the numbers out of thin air. It could very well be true, but I don't trust VGC enough for this to convince me.

While the pre-order charts aren't THAT accurate most of the time, I still think CoD will finally die off this gen!

It wont die off..  Even if it sold 500k there is no way activision would halt their franchise without trying a lot to turn things around.  Look at how many poorly selling games the guitar hero franchise had before they pulled the plug.  They even made a (fantastic imo)  spinoff series DJ Hero that both failed just as bad before they finally saw there was no turning back. The only thing that could encourage them to stop sooner would be destiny as a franchise actually selling whatever insane amounts it needs

Hopefully the franchise falls I hate it

I don't hate COD, but the big sales is undeserved...

COD wont die any time soon. There's 3 developing teams working on the franchise. The next two COD games are likely well on their way to being finished.

I hope this is the beginning of the end for Call of Duty. The bigger they are, the harder they fall.

I know Activision will try to do all sorts of things to make CoD very relevant again, but the writting is on the wall...

Everyone relax! Multiplayer footage is not even out yet, which is rare for CoD by now.
It will still sell 10 million+ on Xbox and 10 million+ on PS.

Its good that COD will die soon, but Destiny could just turn into COD this gen. So I wouldn't be surprised to see yearly releases for it.

I think it will still sell an absolute huge amount of copies. And these numbers show how god awful Ghosts is/was, since CoD pre-orders are based on the previous installment.

I think so too. Also, I don't think marketing for CoD Advance Warfare has really kicked into high gear. Activision needs to first ensure Destiny has a solid launch, and then they will shift their focus on marketing the crap out of CoD Advance Warfare. They have 1.5 months separating the two game releases.

the decline is real tho.
Time for destiny to take over the shooter crown

Agree.

Destiny will disintegrate COD!!!

*become

If Destiny is the smash everyone thinks it will be then Activision will milk it too.
