Whoever decided to stop making Metroidvanias should be fired for sure.

Konami just loves destroying their own franchises, don't they? :-/

One game wins it easily: Super Castlevania.

This is going to be a landslide victory. It's such an obvious choice.

2000-2009. Dawn of Sorrow is one of my top 5 favorite games ever for any platform.

I prefer the Metroidvanias...so I'm going to go with the GBA games.

Have to go with the 2000's, where Koji Igarashi fine tuned his methods into an art form.

Circle of the Moon (2001)
Harmony of Dissonance (2002)
Aria of Sorrow (2003)
Dawn of Sorrow (2005)
Portrait of Ruin (2006)
Order of Ecclesia (2008)

Oh come on, who didn't enjoy playing as naked Raiden? Or for that fact, who didn't enjoy finding out Snake wasn't even IN MGS2?

Yes, and I played three of them one after another - and then had enough of Castelvania for the next 10 years...
