Forums - Nintendo - 3DS survey

I just got my 3DS back from Nintendo's repair today! Our new life together can finally begin, with Pokemon Y! However, I've been playing my GBA avidly, and I can answer how I play that and will be playing my 3DS.

1. I publicly play my GBA and will play my 3DS mostly at work, after everyone else has left the office, and when my fiancee and I go out for dinner. Otherwise, I'm usually not in a position to play it when I'm not at home because I do most of the driving and I'm busy with errands or having fun, so I can't play it then.

2 & 3. Even though I did not answer yes, I want to address this anyway. I am 28 years old, but I have never felt the need to be ashamed of enjoying my favorite hobby. I WANT people to know what I'm about. When most people see me, they see an athletic black dude with cornrows and baggy jeans, and assume things. My handheld is one way of showing them there is more to me than a stereotype.

1.I play my 3DS all the time in public on the train and on the bus when I travel or go out. I'm in leaving in South Korea and I see people doing it all the time. A couple weeks ago I was sitting in a coffee shop on date and there was a couple sitting next to me both playing their 3DSs(the guy had an XL and the girl a model 1). It was very cute that both enjoy playing it together.

2.I don't feel ashamed or anything because I think you shouldn't care what people think about you or less they are your family or friends. I find people usually just mind their own business.

1. Yes. Back in England, when I used to take the train to work, I played my 3ds all the time. I've also played it on planes, on park benches, and bus stops. I've seen other adults playing on 3ds as well, but I mainly see tablet and phone gamers. I imagine they looked at me with envy as they played angry birds (Ok, I know there are some great mobile games but it's not the same).

I don't have many reasons to play my 3ds in public anymore. If I did had reason to play it outside fear of it being lost or stole (With about a hundred potentially unretrievable downloaded games) would be my biggest concerns. Seriously, Nintendo needs to do something about that.

2. It's not in my nature to care if they did, but I actually don't think people do look negatively on you for things like that (If they did they'd be morons).

1 i play my 3ds everytime i take the train to my university. If i have a long break between courses, i will play it on the library as well/

2 ashamed? why? everyone likes to play games, jst depends on what genre and platform they like. ppl play mobile games in public, why cant handheld console?

Hello, please take my survey if you are at least 18 years or older and if you own a 3DS

1. Do you ever play your 3DS in public? If so where "e.g. on the bus, at the library, etc" Please mention as much detail as possible.

2. If you answered yes to the above, do you ever feel ashamed or stigmatized for using the 3DS in public? Do you feel that people are silently judging you?

3. If you don't use your 3DS in public, is it because you are worried about being judged/stigmatized?

Thank you sirs.

1. Yes.   No really consistant locations.  Just anytime I feel like having a go at my 3DS.

2. Never feel ashamed.  Never get bad looks.  I'd feel bad for them if they gave me a look because I'm enjoying my time and they aren't.

3. Never worry about your image so much that you can't have fun.  What is that stranger going to do, announce to the world that an adult was having fun on the bus?
