Call me crazy but I'm actually going to see how the game turns out before wishing it was something else.

The thing is, the industry is too spineless to make something so zealous as an adventure like you talk about. It's not proven to sell so no one - certainly not Nintendo - is going to take a chance on something like it. Most developers are playing it as safe as pitifully possible, especially Nintendo who need to move units and please shareholders.

Read the op, thanks. Captain toad is hardly a puzzle game. I'm saying make them real puzzles not just uow to get through really simplistic levels. I didn't say open world, but at least areas on the level of say pikmin 3's areas or maybe a little bigger, obviously in a different setting.
To ikepor: I don't think this idea is all that untested at all. All that I'm saying is make more of an adventure out of it, that's not crazy at all.

We already know what it is.

Probably not, but that's the whole point of IPs. Slapping a brand name character into a decently developed game will get people to buy! Moreover, they are just expanding in the Captain Toad levels in SM3DW. I'll probably buy it, tbh.
I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.
| Aielyn said: You don't have to - you have plenty of other games to choose from, including Hyrule Warriors, Smash Bros, Bayonetta, Sonic Boom, and Watch Dogs, to name some of the most notable titles. But not all games appeal to all people, and CT:TT provides something for people who were fans of the special levels in 3D World. Since it mostly just required some extra modelling and coding that would probably be usable in a new 3D Mario anyway, and this game was probably something the 3D World guys worked on rather than the Galaxy guys, it seems like a smart use of resources to add an extra title to the 2014 lineup without sacrificing anything for 2 |
I'm not getting any of that junk lol. The wii u lineup for the rest of the year is awful.
Why are you guys so eager to dismiss laziness?

Maybe mid tier games died because they weren't priced competitively?

That is such an unnecessary thing to say and Im starting to think that your agenda with this thread has nothing to do with Treasure Trackers...

Which part was unnecessary? I think the assumption that all I have is a wii u is unnecessary. There are so many good games coming out in the next 6 months that Nintendo's limited offerings don't even come into the equation and the point of this thread, at least partially, was to explain why. Not to mention the reactions from Nintendo fans.
First off you have people basically saying that this game was an easy way to fill up their lineup for this year. Secondly, this thread isn't about treasure tracker entirely, it's just an example of how Nintendo could bring some bigger ideas to the table, which I said earlier in this thread actually. I think the idea of a treasure tracker or hunter would've been a great way to apply these ideas, but that's not the main point.

I agree completely, it's an example, but by all means come up with a completely new ip.
