I don´t even know what you are getting at here.

So instead of a puzzle game, you´d rather have something drastically different.

...or you just want the game to have no levels/ be  open world ?

As far as the scope and mechanics are concerned, we know very few things about both.

I take an expertly crafted linear game with levels over a half hearted attempt at something the designers didn´t feel comfortable with any day.

Edit: And lol @ haggling for a cheap price. We don´t even know how big the game will end up beeing, but people are already deeming it unworthy of a normal retail price.

And people wonder why mid-tier games all but died last gen.

Read the op, thanks. Captain toad is hardly a puzzle game. I'm saying make them real puzzles not just uow to get through really simplistic levels. I didn't say open world, but at least areas on the level of say pikmin 3's areas or maybe a little bigger, obviously in a different setting.

To ikepor: I don't think this idea is all that untested at all. All that I'm saying is make more of an adventure out of it, that's not crazy at all.
